I personally wash it once a month. But the washing boy does it every alternate day.

Wash like with soap and water is perhaps once a fortnight or a month. Also, when the car is dirty and the car wash man has not come. He does clean it around 27/30 days. I regularly clean the interiors (2/4 days) with a clean moist cloth, a process that takes 5 mins. Heavy duty cleaning every 2-3 mths.

I drive only on weekends. So washing is once on Saturday morning and once on Sunday evening.

Rehaan, I'm in chennai, and the place we stay is like 2.5 kms from the beach (by air), there was a guy who used to wash my bro's car every single day.
Water here is salty and so is the air.

It was really shocked to see how bad the car rusted in 2yrs.
Same happened to my bike (I used to was it every week) all the plated parts started rusting, so now I wash it say once in 2 months and sometimes I do it in 3 and get it to the water service and do a diesel wash + oil spray (full under body).

Service center guys say the same thing, don't wash it with running water often, if it gets too dirty wipe off with damp cloth. Seems to be working.
But I'm using the car now and I'm a kind of guy who used to wash the car/bike every single day (not a problem in my Native Cochin).

Hate to ride a dirty looking car/bike. But no options I guess. Once a week I get it "wiped" by the really nice driver guys at office, 30/- and they do a really nice job. (1ltr water, 2 cloths)

Ditto, all my cars get washed every day by the neighbourhood car wash guy. He is always in a hurry, but a 200 buck monthly tip ensures that he pays extra attention to my garage.

I personally get them pressure washed once a month from a local petrol pump. Helps in getting dirt out of the weirdest of places.

Once a week, thanks to my office parking. There is no point in washing every day since the car will get dirty in couple of hours, parked there.

For those who wash their cars once a week (or less frequently), is it because of a labour problem, or that car wash guys aren't available in your neighbourhood? India has pretty dusty conditions and any car will get dirty even after a day of use. I don't know of too many cars in Mumbai that aren't washed on a daily basis.

To answer GTO's question - for me it's about striking a balance between keeping the truck clean - and not wasting water. I wash the truck once a week, but if reqd, when I have rain-spray on the truck.

I basically cant stand people hosing their cars, and using an easy 5-6 buckets. I manage to stick to a bucket (most times 3/4's), and yet get a clean look. I dont wash the tyres much. So even though we have a driver who washes the Marina, he doesnt get to touch the truck.

So once a month, it's with car shampoo. And of late, a cream-wax. Using Rally right now, and the feel is definitely different.

Every weekend. Washing it during week days will not work out for me and do not have a neighbourhood washer!

PS: Full shampoo washed today morning; an outing later, now she is back to being as dirty as can be! But then, did not buy the car to make her sit in the parking lot! :-)

better to wash the vehicles daily
remove all the muck and grit etc especially from the wheel wells and of course the outer body shell
also equally important to dust out and clean out the insides because otherwise the vehicle takes on a funny smell which I dont like.
cheers

I pay Rs 200, to a person for washing my car everyday, but this is more on the external and little on the internal, I need to give my car for a through wash, but I somehow don't like service centers spraying diesel in the engine bay, have always wondered if this is a good thing?
