Here's what I think. Even though no one asked me.

There should be a civic message. Something about sober driving, or responsible driving.

For every 50 wonderful, responsible forum members, there will be at least one over-enthusiatic racer, or drinker who is going to crash his car someday.

Do you want a Team-BHP.com, redlining the Indian Automotive scene sticker at the scene of a drink and drive accident or a dragrace gone wrong?
Oh take it from a marketing man, the journalists will have field day with that one.

The perpetrator in question was part of an automotive hobby club that promotes redlining, engine modification and even has an rpm meter with the needle pushed to the limit as part of its logo. No wonder the youngster was driven to this accident.

No, IMHO there are 2 things to be achieved from a civic message.

1) We show our collective values as a forum, promoting responsible driving and no drinking etc.

2) We protect our the reputation of our forum from potential mud-slinging in the case of an untoward accident.

But then I'm not even a car lover, why should anyone listen to me. I'll go do my work now. Good night, have fun with your stickers.

Red face

Boy Sam - you sure put a different twist to this whole sticker thing
the number of times I have typed "I agree" today in my last few posts, I must say again to your suggestion this time!!

Well how we do it on a sticker is open for discussion here, maybe a TeamBHP.com followed by drive safe?? That ought to send the right message, what say fellow sticker lovers?

I think the ratio is going to be more like 5:50, if not more. But I agree with you 100%.

Guys, anything decided on this? OR still the decision has to be made.

Luke: If we are not coming to consensus by 20/08, take the decision and go ahead with the printing of the same (whatever you think is OK). If we keep this open ended, the discussions will go on and on. People who want the stickers will write to you or pm you. Hope everybody are in agreement with this.

Sam, I couldn't agree more!
During lunch at the recent Bangalore meet, Some of us (If I remember correctly - wonder_y_me, patchy boy and chandan) were discussing very similar issues.

Absolutely, bang on target.
Come to think of it, a safe/responsible driving message should be prominent with the forum's image. After all, any member would be able to get a sticker made on his own and put it on his ride - and there are no checks or measures on how each one of us drives. This could potentially give rise to a headline situation such as mentioned in your post!

Great job Srinin!

The 3rd one is good and as for the second choice, the 5th one.

Srini, just a thought, how would these look transparent? I mean, instead of the black background, just plain transparent.

And for the afternoon laugh, here is a thought:
Can we bring down the speedometer needle down a 'lot'? Lets put it at 35/40KMPH - to be safe. But then, I guess it would look like we are shooting outself in the foot: "Redling the Indian Automotive Scene... at a safe 40kmph!"

Can we make a simple one line sticker like 'Got Bhp? www.team-bhp.com'

We can stick this on our number plates.

Guys - Team-BHP already has a logo. You cannot just start making new ones.

I suggest you approach Rehaan and GTO for permission and logos.

Secondly, there is a very good reason why there is a tacho instead of a speedo in the original logo. Don't think it is a good idea to show the speedo needle at top speed. It is not what we're promoting, is it?

Yes,
The Speedo can be changed to Tacho meter. If MODS could give their opinion ,we can follow that or let the MOdS can design and distribute the stickers.

I agree with Sam, we should not go and get something new, let us all use the team logo...
