Very nice shot and pp. How are you finding Lightroom?

Looking at such photos make me realise that there is such an interesting, hidden world that I never pay attention to.

True, but is also very tough to shoot. Macro requires very good composition, it is not just magnification.

See my old post (The Official non-auto Image thread) on this.

How did you make it pose? Did you spray it with something. It always makes me wonder

Using LR for quite some time now. Very comfortable to use. Colours and details can be retrieved more naturally even when shot in harsh conditions.
Shot these in bright sunlight on different occasions.

Yes, I have read a little bit.

I am not sure whether I want to get into macros, though I enjoy seeing beautiful pictures. I shoot wildlife (and a little bit of landscapes) because I love nature, forests and mountains. I am thinking that I would prefer to specialize in shooting big mammals. And I hate the creepy crawly creatures - can never get passionate about them. But I am awestruck with some of the macro photos I have seen - makes me appreciate the wonder that is nature. E.g. who would have thought that a lowly housefly's eyes are so beautiful?

Same thing with under water photography. I have done snorkeling, and enjoy an occasional swim (pool or sea), but can never think of going down into the depths (my wife loves to do that, she learnt scuba diving when she was in the navy). Though there is such a beautiful and fascinating world out there.

A couple of my photos got flicked (not from Team BHP), so I have reverted to posting low res versions here - which might look a little soft, or too sharp at times. And after a little R&D, I realized that it is so easy to flick photos from 500px and 1x. At least end up with a 200-300KB version that is good enough for web use. Sigh. Seems Smugmug is more careful about such things.

I had downloaded the LR trial version a while back. I still prefer proprietary Nikon SW for RAW conversion, but I might have to bite the bullet and start using Lightroom soon. The SW I use, Nikon has stopped supporting -they have come up with Capture NX-D, which doesn't have the features I like. Nikon should have retained IP rights to some of the cooler stuff that was there in Capture NX2 - the rights now reside with Google.

Sharing too many pictures over here can become boring for the viewers. So those who want to see more can view the "my works' section in my website. Even for better picture quality click on my website link.

Oh, you are a professional photographer? Did you visit Bangalore recently? We checked with Rudra Sen, it wasn't him.

I had 4 safaris worth of shots - many of them shot in good/golden light - deleted. Sigh. Had posted on Facebook about that, couldn't recover finally.
There were some nice ones of the Barasingha deers in golden light, as well as many backlit photos.

Thanks and thats a nice pic you have clicked. Bird photography i feel is one of the toughest aspect in photography.
Am not good at bird photography so to be on the safer side sharing a different type of a pic which includes a folk of birds.

Thanks. Had a quick look at your website. Nice photos. You seem to favour a style with tonal contrast. Do you shoot JPEG or RAW? What gear?
