What do you mean by a reversed lens? If you reverse it, how will it fit in the camera body. Sorry

Poor mans macro! The following link will give an idea. Simpler methods were there recently in Better Photography. If I remember correct, it was by gluing a filter ring to a body cap after removing the portion inside the ring from the cap. Reverse lens, the poor man's macro lens. | Shutterpad.com

I feel its time you change your ID to PhoTorque Guru

@Deky

You got it right reg reverse lense.

I use a home made adaptor to keep the lens attached to the body.

Perfect, thats how I made one for myself :P

Disadvantage of reverse lens is that u cannot control apaeture unless the lens has a apaeture ring.

Here are few images that I have clicked at Scott Kelby Photo walk - Uppal

Used Adobe Camera Raw to edit these images.

I was shooting at lower apaeture number and was looking for more of candid shots n found this little fellow. Infact he was crying as I started shooting him, he started smiling and then suddenly raised his hand I clicked its more of an accident than a planned shot

There's a trick for that. Set the required aperture with the lens mounted normally. Hold the Preview DOF button and simultaneously press the lens release button and take the lens off. Voila, you have the aperture that you wanted.

@Deky
The original looks good enough!

@guyuonblackybx
Hmm, i understand. I tried it too...was too cumbersome, so got lazy!

The Kid's click is awesome, the expression is priceless..also nice light...just need to work on focus a bit more...but i liked it nevertheless.

Haha the change in ID you suggested was funny..haha..

Thank for the tip. It works great. I have been using revese lense since I brought my camera but never thought on those lines @TG I was serious about the ID.

Hmm, No. Not even close to the magic of the color shot. That red top made a great contrast. Also, BW works well with deep DOF shots. With shallow DOF, this shot is not a candidate for BW.

@Samurai
Hmm i disagree, black and white can work with Shallow DOF just as well, maybe in that shot it is not as good as it should be,If I had intensified the reds a bit more it might have looked better, check this out, its one of my all time favorite black and white shot...and it has shallow DOF.

Wrong context. Portraits have always been shallow DOF territory, color or BW. Show me a good landscape shot with BW treatment and shallow DOF. It may not be impossible, but it will be an exceptional composition.
