The first shot, is a bit over-saturated IMO. Even the lowlights are influenced by the blue color cast. Composition is very nice. It has some good scope for PP.

The second shot could have been straightened up a bit, like 1 degree rotation CCW. Looks to be a bit blurred or shaken.

That's amazing. I had to wait over a slow connection to buffer it up.

Looks like sunrise! The flare at the lower left corner is a PP or natural?

@clevermax
I never do pp flares ever since i got into serious photography, they look so CG(Computer Generated) . Thats the natural flare of the lens you are seeing. I didnt feel like removing it actually. Only pp done is bring the curve down a little bit for the sky as it was further blown out.

Default Infra red.....

Some recent shots. Taken with 50mm 1.8 since the 18-55 has terrible hotspots.
Please excuse the composition. Firstly 50mm on APS-C is terrible for landscapes, secondly,. I could not see what I was shooting, and in the bright sunlight, even LCD was pretty useless!

@Tsk
Wow, those colors look awesome! No excuse for composition, through a 50 mm, things can still be composed well..

TG, the sky doesn't look natural. Its too much blurred / smudged on the top portion. Please excuse me if it was because of long exposure. Beautiful picture otherwise.

@Tsk: Nice colors on the IR shots. I have no idea about IR photography. I think there is an IR attenuator over the sensor, that needs to be removed for IR photography? You might be using an IR filter in front of the lens which allows only IR to pass through?

Long exposure + wind = blurred clouds...i like it! Its aparticular look u set to achieve in a long exposure, a long exposure of moving water or clouds by itself, is not natural right?

Yes, I am using an unmodified camera, and an IR filter in front of lens. this means, in the full light of the noonday sun, at Apertures like F8, I need to give a 2-3 second exposure

Exposure: 210
Aperture: f/5.6
Focal Length: 24 mm
ISO Speed: 640

Ideally ISO speed must not be that high, I wanted to check how the camera was performing and hence tried it at that ISO. Also...I had no remote release, so wanted to minimize the exposure time since i was manually holding the shutter button down for the entire length of the exposure.
Regards,
TG.

mukul an excellent shot pal. However I still need to learn how to get get the skies to look so soft and not grainy. Any suggestions on how to achieve this in PS ?

@ Riju
Well, in the above cases, there is no PS involved to get the grain free sky...so if that is the kind of look u want, try long exposures at isos of around 200. Another work around is using a blur filter ( which I dislike, because to me it looks very procedural...very CG)

Have you tried long exposures at ISO 200 on your camera? Generally long exposures with moving clouds naturally will give you such skies, you dont have to do much pp.

@tifosikrishna
thanks mate..

Regards,
TG.
