Amit, blending, layer etc are foreign words to me, frankly. I dont even know to mask and edit. So the maximum work you would find in any of my shots are basic contrast, sharpness and saturation. I dont think there was any colour issues with my older photos (still accepting I havent got any basic introduction to PP works yet). Waiting for the weekend, I am attending a 2 days workshop conducted by BPC. Hopefully that should solve the 'colour' issues.

TG, great work. I am sure you have seen the Hrithik Roshan's print ad of some laptop or something, 'slanting to the pool'. I remember reading about it commented by the photographer himself. It took 3 attempts for that perfect shot, if my memory is correct. Was it published on the betterphotography mag ? I think it was.

May be that's why look at the color of trees grass and mud at the background in the lake picture. If you create a duplicate layer and then do the manipulation it allows to easily go back and forth on whatever you do preserving the original in bottom layer and then in the end you can flatten the final image.
Just look at the menu options for layers in PS or GIMP.

PS : I am no expert in photo-shopping but just from my limited use I can say using layers is always a good idea rather then directly using the curve adjustment on default layer.

Had gone to GKVK campus along with Unni and a couple of non-t-bhp friends to do some more birding and macro shots. Here is what I got. Thanks to Unni for helping me out by holding the diffuser for a few flower test shots .

The flower and the bud are examples of what a diffuser can do to flower shots in the day. These were shot in bright sunlight and a diffuser was held very close to soften the shadows. The more I use the sigma 70-300 for birding, the more I like it. Don't know the IDs of any of the species posted here, if someone here knows them, kindly educate me as well. Also, if someone knows of a good focus stacking software (free) which doesn't leave me with the watermark helicon focus has, it would help me a great deal. Have a look and C&C please .
