Classic problem of macros, you probably shot this with max aperture, the DOF is so thin, only part of the leg and some back is in focus, rest are all out of focus. Wasn't somebody asking why deep DOF is needed in macros? Here is why. Try the shot again with lower aperture, say F5.6 or F8, you would get most of the body in sharp focus. Crank up the ISO and reduce the shutter speed to maintain the same exposure.

The photo was shot by Sony Cybershot DSC W30, not amongs the best P&S cameras in market. As far as I remeber the pic was shot in Auto mode. Even in the Program mode, I can only adjus ISO, metering and Focal length among some given options.

Hmm, a dslr wont give you better metering. Canon is 9% in spot, and many others are 3%.
But you see such amazing bird shots.
So with experiment you get the idea.
Shooting against a sky, dial in +1.5EV etc.,
So its all practice.
Your S3IS is pretty good for birding.

Putting up few images from a new Nokia N73me a relative bought yesterday. (He gave it to me for clicking away to my satisfaction, cause i argued k790i has better cam)

(am no photographer, and in fact, dont even have a proper cam. So sorry about the poor quality)

The good and the bad! (hehe... I guess i see Samurai's pics in my dreams)

Was wondering how he created that effect! Looks stunning.

Nice pic, kpzen! I thought walkman series was for music only, and now you are proving me wrong.
