Angry Does Ford consider System-G equivalent to prescripton drugs?

I had been to Lathangi Ford, Bangalore to do some general checkup on my car and decided to purchase System G fuel additive as well. Here is the conversion between me and the accessory guy (Ag):-

Me: Can I have 1 bottle of System G please?
Ag: Sir, is this the first time you are coming here?
Me: ?
Ag: Have you made a job card?
Me: How does that matter? I am not here for service. I just need System G
Ag: Sir, I need you to bring your vehicle and give the service manual. I need to make a note on the service manual, open a job card, get the System G from inside...it will take a minimum of 30min
Me: What!!! It just takes 2 min elsewhere.
Ag: Sorry sir, but this is how it is here.
Me: So, what if I want to buy one for a friend of mine?
Ag: That's not possible. We can issue it only along with a service manual.
Me: Thanks, I'll buy it from any petrol pump.

What on earth has happened to Ford? The last time I bought System G from Cauvery ford, they didn't ask for the service manual nor did they make me wait 30 min. Either Ford policy has gone nuts or the new dealership here is not interested in doing business. Whatever it may be, I have not decided to leave this matter. I am planning to call the Ford helpline and write to them as well. Will keep you guys posted.

If, anyone of you have experienced this, do share the same here.

It depends from service centre to service centre on how their policy is for giving anything over the counter. Some places don't even give you a bul without making a job card. More to do with inventory policy.

Anyways it's better not to buy such stuff from the service centre, they will charge more or mrp whereas petrol bunks may even give it at a discount.

Possible that the AG did not have a clue to what System-G is.

Pls go to BP / IBP bunks & get it as you fill up. Or even without getting down from your car.

OT :
@Vid, how's the scene in LA ? Do check out the beaches !

No Condor, they had the stuff in a cabinet in the reception area itself. This was clearly not a case of misunderstanding.

I usually buy it from petrol pumps itself. Just that I was in the A** for some work and thought of picking a bottle from there itself.
