Default Pics: 1997 Honda Accord's and more

1997 Honda Accord's and others

This is one my favorite Honda Accords before 2000. I love the way it looks. Its got enough power to rip a Honda City today. Power ranges from 130bhp to 170bhp. Engine options are between inline four cylinder and a V6. Most I've seen are four-doors. I doubt I've seen a two door. Original cost then was between Rs 8 lakhs and Rs 12 lakhs.

I have pics of four 1997 Honda Accord's althought I've seen more than 10-15 of them. They are attached below:

I have some more pics of the pre-2000 Accord's, will search and post them later. If you guys have more pics of this beauty please post them here.

If you guys have pics of other Accord's produced before the year 2000 please post them here itself.

Have seen quite a few of these in bangalore too. Have seen one very well maintained accord in indranagar. The guy lives in 100 feet road next to the italian restaraunt. Suppose he is a big time honda fan - have seen a old accord, new accord - the pre face lift model and a CRV.

I've seen more than 50 pre 2000 Accords, not the Indian ones I mean.

They are different body types too ranging between 2 door, 4 door and station wagon. I've never seen a 1997 Honda Accord Station Wagon.

yeah Jesal, seen that, and the 1992 models are my second favorites. There is a same blue color with golden wheels in my area. Haven't taken pics yet. Will do sooner or later.

Are these supercars? Once again, I get the feeling it would be a good idea to post those which aren't dime a dozen.

Somehow I can't agree with the front end - it looks too thin and slim-eyed... The rear lamp cluster is great though... simple, but elegant and muted. Perfect. Holy crap - 170BHP is no joke.

Again, my opinion doesn't have to count, its just my opinion, and since I draw towards more angled shapes, I guess I'm wandering away from these lamps... hehe... I like the Black on ethe most...

Cheers!!

Somehow, we think opposite. I love the front-end and don't like the rear much.

Well the forum does not have a place to post these cars, so I posted it in "Supercars And Bikes Section" just like the Prado's and Pajero's in that section. The mods thought it'd be best to keep it in the "Shifting Gears". I disagree. Its a completely different section. Hope they do something about it and remove the topic from "Shifting Gears" to an appropriate place. And about whether these cars are worth dime a dozen:

One man's toy, maybe another man's dreamcar!

Our apologies, but NOTHING will be done about it.

2005 Accords are currently sold in Honda showrooms all across India. Now we wouldnt classify them as supercars , would we? Then why would an outdated, discontinued and two generation old family sedan have its place in a dedicated forum?

The Shifting Gears forum is specifically for topics that do not fit into the carefully defined sections. Now since you yourself admit that the forum does not have a place for such cars, what better solution?

An 800 may also be a dream car for some. But it has its place in another section, not the supercars forum.

In the end, its a subjective decision : And one thats best left to the moderator team.
