Default If you Love Sea Food and Can drive to Quilon (Kollam)

Guys, if you love seafood and dont mind eating in a coconut roof shack (ola pera) joint, I have jus the place for you.
I was driving to Trivandrum and stoped at Kollam for Lunch and this is where I ATE some FISH ( i mean I ate the whole KINGFISH (1.25 kgs) i have pics of the place and one of the 2nd half of my plate.
The place: Thirumullawaram (beach side buy kollam town)
Shop: Chandra Pilla's place (that's how it's known)
Directions: ask for Thriumullawaram and once you get there ask for Chandra Pilla, Once you get there ask for a FULL King fish or Pomfret or whatever he has...
PS. the place is a shack, you can park in the coconut grove and walk if you want.
here are few pics: the fish piece is approx 1 ft long and about 750 gms 3 such pieces will keep you warm in winter
The 2 other pics are on route to Chandra Pillas'. that's view 50mts from where you eat. ROCKIN MAN!!

Hey Joe

Thanks for that. Will visit the next time we pass thru Kollam as the rest of my small family are seafood fanatics. Personally, I hate the stuff - I was more of a beef-eater before I turned veggie.

We also need to drive through your town to catch up on Naushad's biryani and find out if it really has lost its edge in recent times. Also need to catch up on some live music when you're on the drums!

SpeedZak, I tried everything in the house, prawns are right next to the fish in the pic, crab, and one of my fav was podi meen fry it was more like 'fish like chips' :-) he didn't have squid though. Once you start eating you'll feel the shack transorm into some sort o sea food trip LoL

Wow... these pictures would have made me homesick if I was still in Blr. Got to check out this place next weekend or so, when I drive home to Kollam.

Steer, my sympathies on you being veg I hope you have a mighty good reason for it. I have bad nuz - Naushad doesn't have a resturant anymore, so his briyanis are only at weddings and parties! But the good nuz is it's still the same. On the topic of briyanis nothing to beat 'Venu Briyani' Hq Dindigul, they have branches in Kodai n Coimbatore. This place Rocks! And for live Rock! Anytime, jus give me a buzz while you come to town.

Ps. Guys I saw the other posts, will reply soon, my mobile device is driving me up the wall, can't multi post and stuff.
