I wash the car myself every sunday...the rest of the days...the watchman does duty.
But nobody can clean a car like an owner...so the actual cleaning and washing happens on sundays.

I used to polish the car every second sunday with formula 1 wax. It used to take almost 3 hours...but well worth the effort. These days i dont polish the car...and saying that i dont have time is just an excuse...i've just become too lazy.

But will get back to the routine...its a nice workout too

I tend to to be more partial towards my M. Always a "touch-free" automatic car wash. Dont like those brushes.....god knows whats in them. The car wash dosent do the bumpers and wheels too well, so I do a prep-wash at home before I go the car wash.....and of course never use the same cloth again. As far as the other cars I wash them only when they start looking bad.

In Bangalore, we have a boy come in every other day and wash the City. I had given him some training now how to do it the right way.....as-in start from top and work your way down, glass first etc.
But, I am afraid there is a new guy & I've lost control now.

BTW, I heard that MRF had opened a automatic car wash (Tyredome??) in Chennai. Is it popular??? How about other cities and how is the quality/price. Chennai boys...any comments.

Washing happens for the Accent every morning (watchman doing it). 2-3times a week, the Honda is washed since it doesn't move out so often. I do the waxing about once in 2-3months. It takes 2-3hours to do it. I used to use Formula 1 earlier & it was total crap, now I've tried teh turtle wax that I bought in Muscat. That is just average, nothing great.

Tyredome is now 14 years old. Started with a big bang but not sure how it's doing now. I haven't seen any hectic activity during my last few visits in Chennai.

RJ, you'll get a lot of fake Formula 1 in the market. They all come from China.
You can use official import 'Eagle one'. It's good.

And where does one get this in bangalore?? All I have seen are the yellow formula 1 boxes that just don't look genuine!

My car gets a daily wash from the wash-man... except when he goes on furlough. Other than that, an occasional complete wash at one of the service centers... plus a good waxing once a month. I use Formula1 and so far its been giving good results. Got it from a no nonsense accessories shop in kmgl.
Saw another dude waxing his opel sail in the society... he was also using Formula1... said he has been using Formula1 wax for quite some time now and is quite satisfied with it.
I guess it all depends where u get it from... and i have been lucky to not get a fake one!
I once tried that dashboard cleaner thats on sale in fabmalls (wot was its name again??)... horrrrible stuff. Tried it on one small area and it got worse than before!! Threw it away.

Cheers
