Default Anyone working/worked in Manila?

Has any member worked in Manila earlier? My company may just send me to Manila for a short term assignment and wanted to know the working conditions, safety precautions, food availability, racism (if any), overall staying experience prevalent there?

Been there briefly

1: Traffic in downtown Manial is awful
2: Plenty of pickpocketing so avoid carrying too much cash
3: Not sure about indian food, I eaat anything so never bothered - plenty of food courts to eat from
4: safety - depends where you are - best to ask colleagues
5: It is a beatiful country outside the cities - if you can get someone to take you around

People are hospitable

No racism

Avoid going alone after 8 in the evening.

There are few indian hotels servs indian food and also they will send it
your place on tele order.

First visit to Indian embassy, they will have to do and not, this will help

You can visit cebu 1 hour flight journey.

There are plenty of resorts country side. But go with only friends.

I visited manyh times on official work.

Trafic little problem. Plan before venturing out.

Thanks and enjoy your stay.

Hi,

bumping up an old thread, wanted to check the current conditions in Manila. Considering to take up a 3 year project in Makati City. Company would be paying in local salary but havent disclosed any numbers yet. So wanted to know the approx cost of living, etc.

Any help or pointers would be appreciated.

Sorry for the Late Response. But this can be a valuable Tool for anyone interested in such Reasearch. I am not promoting or not related to them, but ts has helped me too, many a times.
