Last drive took a toll on my ear drums due to air horns by lorries and private busses. Now its a bit hard for me to hear through my left ear.

Could anyone give me good recommendations of an ENT doctor in East BLR ? Need to get my ear thoroughly checked.

3. What are the advantages/disadvantages of either surgeries given his condition?
4. My concern is that my grandfather may not be able to cope up with a major surgery. Although his heart condition is stable, he is still has diabetes and he is 87 years old and that will definitely hamper healing of the wound. Currently, he has a wound in his foot which he sustained last year and still yet to heal.

I know it will be confusing when I take opinions of more than one person. I never knew about cryo surgery until and uncle of mine (who is a doctor) suggested to check it out. So, please let me know your opinions. Thanks

Please help me with valuable advice

I had a root canal treatment for my molar teeth 5 years ago , Recently the tooth break by half and my dentist extracted the tooth. My dentist is suggesting a permanant fixation of the lost molar by bridging the adjacent teeth after healing the extraction wounds.I have following questions

1. Is it safe to have a permanant fix by bridging (I dont know the exact techinical term) ?
2. Is there any feasible detachable fix ?.
3. What will be the life expectancy of permamant fix ?
4. Do i need to change it periodically ?
5. Is there is any other method of permant fixing (other than grinding the adjacant teeth and bridging them)

Bridges are durable if planned and done properly. Your other options if you don't want the adjacent teeth touched, are either an implant (expensive) or removable partial dentures (low cost).

Go for a bridge, they are permanent and will last you a long time. But go for ceramic bridges. Implants again is a good option if you don't want to involve the adjacent teeth but are pretty expensive.

2. Is there any feasible detachable fix ?. Ofcourse there is REMOVABLE DENTURE - but i would never advice to get one unless you have lost all your teeth. It is the cheapest option available for replacement.
3. What will be the life expectancy of permamant fix ? Depends on the dentist who does it. If you get the supporting teeth root canal treated before taking support from them to form a 3 unit bridge, it should last you for 5 yrs minimum.
4. Do i need to change it periodically ? It is supposed to be a permanent solution if you pick metal or metal ceramic crowns
5. Is there is any other method of permant fixing (other than grinding the adjacant teeth and bridging them) Ofcourse there is, and its called DENTAL IMPLANTS. The best possible treatment i would advice considering you dont need to disturb the adjacent normal teeth.

Go to a specialist, an endodontist or prosthodontist if you want fixed/ Removable denture.
Go to a specialist, Oral surgeon if you want an implant.

Cost -

Removable Denture = Rx500 - Rs 3000
Fixed
Root canal treatment for 2 teeth Rs 1500 -3500 X 2 = 3000-7000
+
Metal bridge = Rs 3000-5000
Metal-Ceramic bridge = Rs 5000 - 15000

Dental implant
Rs20000 - 50000

My aunt is diabetic. She has been asked to take sartel along side her other diabetes tablets. On asking as to why sartel was included, the doc said it was for protecting kidneys.

Is she better off to take a second opinion ?

No need to take a second opinion.

Diabetic Nephropathy is a micro vascular complication, which arises out of diabetes.

Certain class of antihypertensives are prescribed to arrest the progression of Diabetic Nephropathy.

Whats her age and for how long has she been a diabetic. (Type 1 or Type 2.?)

Whats her protienurea levels.?
