Exclamation Inplant Training (Help Required!)

Hi,
I am currently in 3rd year (6th Sem) of Automobile Engg. from M.H.Saboo Siddik Mumbai.

Today one of the lecturers discussed about the inplant training, that every student needs to go through before moving on to the 4th year.
Since all this is very new to me I thought of getting help from you guys.

I wanted to know where in Mumbai can I get such a training and what should be the procedure to go about it?

It was also said that if we can't find an industry we could take the training at any automobile service centre.
What would be the better option in terms of gaining hands-on training?

I only know of one industry i.e.:Mahindra & Mahindra at Kandivali.
Are there any others?

Thanks!
Shoeb

Thanks!

I just enquired about it at college and found out that we could either make a project or go for the inplant training.

Training can be obtained at Mahindra & Mahindra after giving a test.

Now I am thinking about what I should do.

I feel a project will be much better than industrial training in terms of hands-on experience.
Will have a talk with my classmates and see whats next.

SRK - even a project would be better done within a company. The infrastructure and know how available will be a great learning experience.

If you don't mind spending some time away from Mumbai, you could also try Tata Motors in Pune. What kind of a project are you interested in doing? Design, Manufacturing?

My friends and I are planning to build a Hybrid Scooter.
Right now we have just got some basic ideas on paper and have given them to one of our teachers who will be showing it to an expert and then we'll get the answer if that concept is possible or not.

If this doesn't work out then I'll have to go for the Industrial Training.

But some of our seniors who were posted in an industry said they weren't allowed to do much, it was more like an observational tour.
