i do play midnight club los angeles, gt5 and grid. i used to play NFS Undercover but i stopped playing it because it is so bad.

no i donot think it comes in handy in real life driving situations, may be its me because i drive like my hair is on fire in video games and i donot really care if i hit some odd pedestrian in the game, but if i did that in real life i would be typing on this forum sitting in the prison.

but games like GT5 and GT4, forza etc., help you know the way one should drive on a track. so the video games help in some way.

Latest I played was NFS pro street and turned out to be a big bummer.
Like GTA series for freestyle driving.

All time favourite for me would be
NFS-Porsche Unleashed-Just love it.

NFS Hot Pursuit and Most Wanted.

And for the sheer fun of it, the Burnout series.

As for whether video games help, I am of the opinion that they do. Eye-hand co-ordination and all that jazz.

Try project gotham racing 3/4 on the xbox. It is the most realistic game in terms of car dynamics that I've ever played! Absolutely brilliant!

Presently I'm hooked on to NFS Underground and Test Drive 6. Play NFS Hot Pursuit occasionally as well.
I love to watch the replays in Test Drive 6, some of the Audio Tracks are cool too.
Still my favorite car racing game will be the NFS II. Love it!
I never felt that these games have ever influenced my real driving, just my experience!

rFactor is an amazing sim, and the amount of mods it has is unbelieveable. Apart from that, NFSUG2 and NFS Most Wanted sometimes.

Grid (Pc Version) . One of the best games to toy around with. Its one of the closest games that comes towards car drifting/racing. But gotta play it with Controllers.

GTA 4, Freestyle driving. Anybody playing should find the Sultan RS. Its a real treat. Its not fast but got good acceleration.

NFS Undercover, played it 25% and then un-installed immediately. One of the most bugg'iest games ive played. Too much to complain.
