BHPians ,

I am on the look out for 2 drivers at my home.

Vehicles: Chevy Tavera & Ford Ikon.
Location: Perambur, Chennai.
Salary no constraint, I can pay up to current market standards.

It would be great if somone could really help me here. Also let me know if there are any recruitment agency that would help me find a driver.

Help me folks, I am in verge of crisis if I dont find a driver soon!

Thanks in advance folks :)!

Arun

There are umpteen number of agencies who supply drivers. Check your local 'TImes' paper like we have the Anna Nagar Times or Mugappair Talk.

There is a guy in our company who supplies services. The name is Fernando; you may reach him on 09381038930.

Thanks John & Jose! :)

@josepeter, Can I give your name as reference to Fernando?

Hi Dude..

There is a real good driver.. but he is a graduate.

hope u dont mind..he has done MBA & BE...

One good thing is that he has also got a car..if you are ok let me know. he can bring his car also along with him for the job. you can pay the EMI & a separate salary for his driving

i think during this recession its better to have some offers ready in hand :-)

Folks,

I am in the same boat- any up to date links or suggestions for thiruvanmiyur? I don't get any local Thiruvanmiyur times paper, only Hindu!

We have struggled for over 1 month - even only tamil speaking drivers are costing 12k pm for ~10 hours of driving, five days a week. We'd ideally prefer someone who speaks English/Hindi, and can be available for 12 hours, 5 days/week + 2 saturdays.

Distance one way is only 13km.

//two maids have already left within one week. That is another calamity.

Why don't you try Adyar Times ? You can check online version also. Only issue in the online version is they use scanned image of the entire paper so you can't copy any text.

You can release a classified ad in Adyar times (which costs about Rs.300 last when I released). Or try Suleka classifieds too. You get younger drivers easily. Spread the word around with local cab drivers. Experienced aged drivers are hard to come by. Younger drivers are ok if you don;t have women as passengers alone.

My kid's preschool is Adyar - will look it up today evening only.

Our requirement is my wife as solo passenger together with my two year old kid - therefore reliability is paramount.

Sure. Then it is different. You need someone mature and experienced. I can spread the word around locally. But it takes time. Send me your mobile number in private. I don't promise anything - but let me try.

Hello all, my suggestion is to publish an advertisement in the local news papers. You also need to verify the background of the short listed candidates for your own safety. Hope you will find one soon.

That is the problem. How do you check the background /antecedents of a driver/cook/maid ?
Short of hiring a detective agency we can't be sure. That is why we go by recommendations by people we know.
