Yeah right!!! I'm sure that's gonna save many a lives. Hahahah

Who are the people who come up with such rules?

ok, i know i am responding to an old post, but..

it's the technology. Imagine they ban SMS and then apple comes up with a phone which can interpret your gestures and dance as messages or dance tune for that matter, then we will need new regulations to stop people from dancing when driving

Follow the rules and know the local language! That helps, seriously .

When I was new to Bengaluru, I was caught by a cop (aged) trying to force myself through a 'No Entry'. I did not know this.
He stood right in my path with both his hands extended.
I stopped and argued.
He told me this is a no entry.
Please take the 'U' turn and ..
He did not fine me coz it was an honest mistake. I was impressed.

Next time I was riding a bike, with a out of state number plate (friends).
(Road tax, NOC ..all clear)
He caught me and I said 'Yen Saar, helu' (what sir tell me)!

He started talking to me in full blown Kannada, and I was baffled due to my limited ability to speak the local language.
I said 'Kannada Illa sir' (Don't know Kannada).
He is like 'Aap abhi to bola Kannada'. I said I was learning the local language. You won't believe, he was all smiles and all impressed.
He asked me not to drive this without papers, NOC, road tax..
These are the 2 experiences in Blr. Uptill now all pleasant.
