This reminds me of a story when my office was at a mall.

This was about 10 years ago.

On the 2nd floor was a boutique and this very pretty girl used to work there along with 3 other girls. I'd always make it a point to take the escalator up and always look into the store to look for her.
Eventually she'd look back and even if she was busy at her desk, her colleagues would nudge her when I was approaching and she's look up. Brief eye contact and I'd walk on.

I wouldn't smile or stop or say hello, just look in and walk on. I did this for 3 months at a stretch, then one day she was gone.
I looked every day for the next week and then figured that she had probably quit and that was that. I was angry that I never spoke to her.

Many weeks later while I was walking up to work, I suddenly looked into the store and there she was. I was shocked and surprised. Without thinking I barged into the store and she looked at me.

Where the hell were you all these days?
She looked at me all confused. Uhh.. I had exams. I was on leave.
Oh
. said I, still in shock that I entered the store like that without thinking. Now I realised that the other 3 girls were all staring at me. Softer voice now I was looking for you every morning.
I was on leave for my exams, I'm back now.
Then we both burst out laughing.

Of course eventually nothing happened. Before you ask. And before you-know-who asks.

Back to your thread now.

Finally a short story from the master himself makes this thread all the more interesting !

But its surprising how many of us have these no-words-spoken-only-eye-contact kind of thing with people of the opposite sex! Even though we do not have any intentions at all it's somehow in our nature to indulge in this innocent flirting, if I may call it so, for a few seconds.

"Nothing Happened"

This phrase actually summarises all the love stories that happened in my life.

Now all the depressing memories rush back
