Default How the life has changed...

Some of you might have come across these fantastic lines..
Guess they very much sum up the journey from college to the professional world.

"Here I am sitting in my office @ night…
Thinking hard about life
How it changed from a maverick collage life to strict professional life…...

How tiny pocket money changed to huge monthly paychecks
but then why it gives less happiness….
How a few local denim jeans changed to new branded wardrobe
but then why there are less people to use them
How a single plate of samosa changed to a full Pizza or burger
But then why there is less hunger…..

Here i am sitting in my office @ night…
Thinking hard about life
How it changed…..

How a bike always in reserve changed to bike always on
but then why there are less places to go on……
How a small coffee shop changed to cafe coffee day
but then why its feels like shop is far away…..
How a limited prepaid card changed to postpaid package
but then why there are less calls & more messages……

Here i am sitting in my office @ night…
Thinking hard about life
How it changed…..

How a general class journey changed to Flight journey
But then why there are less vacations for enjoyment….
How a old assembled desktop changed to new branded laptop
but then why there is less time to put it on……….
How a small bunch of friends changed to office mate
But then why we always feel lonely n miss those college frnz.….

Here i am sitting in my office @ night…
Thinking hard about life
How it changed….. How it changed..."

Today I got this in mail from one of my best college friends.
But in reality there is no market for emotions in this world where everything is getting entangled in money matters.
The best thing to do is keep these feelings in heart rather than expressing them.

Thanks Amitoj for your generous comments but they were totally uncalled for.
I came across these lines and thought some of us might co-relate to them. For others who don't, i think its not an element of mockery for them.

IMHO...Past was always best and the changes we took brought more burden to us.To begin with:
- Loved writing letters and sticking a stamp and posting it in the red letter box and awaiting a reply...now we just email and check the reply on Blackberry and delete it.
- Old Bycycle ( A BSA SLR) was a pride..chamkoed eveyr day and ring the tring tring bell everyday..stopping at Puncture wala shop to get air filled...now we are all on tubeless tyres and bigger automobiles with ABS,Airbags etc etc.
- Pre- Marriage : Siniging Cliff Richards "Bachelor Boy" and a James Dean " Rebel with out a cause" and a Casa Nova to the core
Married life : Tasty as Bubble gum in the beginning and losing taste, yet sticky later on.Questions from better half : Who,Where,Why,When? (all refering to WOH !!!)..Lol
- Last but not the least : Figure.
Played competitive tennis and sweated out 4 hrs of practice and had that John McEnroe "Super Brat" temper....now i play tennis on PS II in the living room trying to sit on a sofa..
Oh la la..times have changed

Ok how many here relate to the lines above. zoom_vroom does.

I dont. I have friends, family, samasoes, pizzas, weekend trips, chai at the tappri, i still have my bike, i still wear torn jeans, i dont have a wardrobe which i share with everyone, i dont have huge paycheck (relative i know - but more is never enough)

Basically i have a life. And its upto me to have one.

Sitting @night in the office - how unfortunate!

Get a broadband connection @ home atleast.

I dont.
Neither do I.

I still like and eat samosas.
Still have torn jeans (have yet to convince my better half that somehow its cool)
I still like filter coffee at Darshani to overpriced CCD Coffee.
I have traveled to more places after getting a job.
I have more friends now (college friends + friends in office and not just colleagues)
I still like to travel by train and I do it as well.

And got a postpaid connection, but 90% is call charge and not SMS. Infact used to SMS a lot during college time, when SMSes were free!!

May be he was unfortunate to be in the night shift.
I kind of consider myself lucky to have a regular daytime job actually.

I still like to eat roadside Golgappas and samosas. Nothing can replace it.
I don't get a "HUGE" paycheck but i am satisfied with whatever i have. Greed has no end.

I was (and i think so was Spitfire) talking about the guy who penned those words down, not you. You are just the messenger. So, no need for you to take anything personally.

You surely seem to know a lot about the circumstances in the life of the guy who penned down his thoughts/feelings ... (?)

Guys, instead of pouncing on the author (zoom_vroom may have himself wrote it, you never know) why don't we be little sympathetic of what he is going through. You guys may have a life (or may think of the life you are having to be a life) and are happy with it. But he is not. He is missing his friends from College/school days. Initially when we came out of our home we all feel like that and slowly we got used to it. Some will take this as a new way of life and some can't. So instead of calling him a looser or something I would request you people to be little caring for an estranged soul.
If you ask me do I co-relate myself with this writing, well yes I would've if I had read it some years back but now I've moved on. May be this author also needs some time to get adjusted with the reality and move on. And that doesn't make him a loser neither you a winner. And ofcourse for those who is living with their families and old friends this won't make sense to them as they've never been through this.
Oh, and about my life? I'm loving it ;-) bring me the roads..

And Zoom_vroom, try to take some hobby to pass time, that helps a lot. Go out, travel, see the world, make new friends and you'll enjoy your life again.
