Watched this film a 2-3 weeks back - somehow it loses stream near the ending. Good watch nontheless.
I would give it a 3/5.

Watched Larry Crowne last week
Tom Hanks & Juliea Roberts.
After losing his job,Tom Hanks a middle-aged man reinvents himself by going back to college.

Larry Crowne (2011) - IMDb

Would rate it 2.5/5 , the movie never really takes off at any point of time. Its a slow paced movie with nothing outstanding.

Well surpised people here liked Friends with benefits. But thats the benefit of coming here. You get variety of opinions.

Watched Whistleblower just now. Touching heartwrenching tale of whats wrong in the world of human trafficing. Not for the faint hearted and some guys really can go miles to torture.

Do watch it and you will be thinking about it for a while.

4/5 Rachel weisz is amazing in it.

I finished off cop-out yesterday in 2 days.
Bruce willis and tracy morgan, and it is HILARIOUS!!
Mostly because of the verbal entertainment, not for the story or the action.

I also dug out "Thank you for smoking" y'day, planning to watch it again today.
This is one movie for the library.

Some more favourites of mine:
  • The Game: Mind boggling movie. Twists after twists. Keeps you revetted on your seat till the end. Slightly overdone with twists though.
  • Deuce Bigalow - Male Gigolo: Best of Rob Schneider. I like the subtle comedy style of Rob (He sometimes better his close pal Adam Sandler). I could never control my laughter whenever I see the outbursts of tourettes syndrome girl.
  • The Training Day: Proof of Danzel Washington's versatile acting skills. Doubt whether anyone could equal his depiction as corrupted cop. So much originality. Equally great acting by Ethan Hawke.
  • About Schmidt: Life of a retired employee who comes in terms with realities of life. Touches your heart. Superb performance by Jack Nicholson.
  • Before Sunset: You should watch to understand. You won't feel like watching a movie. So much uniqueness and specialities. Absorbing film.
  • Scary Movie 2: I love spoofs. In my opinion this part is the best of Scary Movie series.
  • Rush Hour 2: Chris tucker at his best. Pity that this great actor doesn't do much movies. Waste of talent.
  • Grand Torino: Loved the way the story was told. Great screen play. Fabulous acting by the old cow boy Clint Eastwood. The way he utters the dialogue "....I will put a hole on your face and then go and sleep like a baby", classic Eastwood.
  • The Firm: Thriller. Good movie to watch on a Saturday evening.
  • Paranormal Activity: One of the very few horror movies I liked. Successfully exploits the subconcious fears of every adults.
  • A Perfect World: I never liked Kevin Costner's acting. But this is an exception.

Source Code

Starring Jake Gyllenhal and Michelle Monaghan

Excellent movie. Keeps you wondering what exactly is going on through the whole movie. Great and different kind of story. You get many answers throughout the film but the ending is a little confusing. Plus the state of Gyllenhall's character catches you off guard along with the ending.

Highly recommend 4/5.

sorry to nit-pick, but it's Gran Torino (can't have anybody mess up a classic car )

But yes that movie and A Perfect World (another Eastwood movie btw!) are quite good. Not many directors capture human emotion and drama like him.

Watched the movie "Philadelphia".
Starring Denzel Washington and Tom Hanks, it's the story of a lawyer who was wrongfully terminated from his law firm, because he was gay and had contracted AIDS. The only lawyer he could find to represent him was one who was homophobic.
The acting and direction are top-notch, as is the music. 5/5.

Watched the movie on 50 cents life Get rich or Die tryin.

Its well made movie but sticks to the usual plot of bad childhood with no parents which leads to bad influences but all through it showed him trying to make more cash and never tryin to do drugs or anything. Interesting to watch him struggle to make it into the music world.

3.5/5

Yes, nice movie and apt title of the movie - "Philadelphia" which means Brotherly Love!

Watched a few movies last week

Decoys 2 ( Alien Seduction) : Not even worth writing a review

Kite Runner

A beautiful story about 2 kids ( one brave, other a coward) who grow up in Afghanistan prior to Soviet occupy the nation.

One of the most touching stories that i experienced with Kite flying ( popular sport in Afghanistan) as the back-drop.

A must watch

4/5

The Fighter starring Christian Bale and Mark Wahlberg

True story of the MA based middle-weight boxer ( CB as ex-boxer and trainer of MW) and MW ( present boxer i.e in movie)

Movie nicely depicts the american middle-class problems, family relations against the backdrop of boxing.

MW was excellent in his role as a confused young man torn between his family and ambition

CB who won an award for his potrayal was brilliant and looked really like an drug addict ( which he potrayed) than a boxer

Great watch

4/5

Christian Bale is psychotic. Brilliant ...... but psychotic.

Saw "Harsh Times" recently. CB's potrayal of the main character "Jim" was fabulous.

Its a pretty heavy movie with a grim end. Watch it if you dont mind feeling zonked out of your wits for a few hours afterwards.

Rating - 3.5 / 5

Next up, another one of Bale's works - American Psycho. Anyone see it?

I would give it a 3/5.

The story seems lame and predictable. All the hype is 'cause of the 'benefits'.
