Its interesting to see how days have changed, in not so distant past we had to wait for Hollywood movies to release in India after their US release, now its the other way round, MI4 & Tintin are two such movies which released in India before their US release

Will be watching both over the coming weekend/week.

In the meanwhile watched following movies

Larry Crowne

The movie is about a middle age salesman Larry Crowne(Tom Hanks) who gets fired & reason given to him is that he doesn't have a College degree(the actual motive is cost cutting). He is shocked because he was a good worker, he comes home realizes that he has a big home loan & that he is not getting any job. He enrolls himself into a college where apprently he has only two subjects Economic & personality development(Public speaking).
Julia Roberts plays the teacher in Public speaking class.

While the movie is on serious topic it has been portrayed in a funny way but overall the movie is one of those senseless movies which you can barely watch thanks to the actors. The storyline & direction is poor(Tom Hanks is co-writer)

2/5

The Adjustment Bureau

The story is about Two people who the adjustment bureau with mysterious powers keep separating but fate or chance makes them meet again & again. That's all I can say without spoiling the suspense

Ordinary story but good direction & good acting by the cast.

3/5

Why will they ever release earlier in India than in the US?

I want to see Clockwork Orange, but the DVD isn't easily available.
2001 was so slooowwwwwwwwww and boring that even if you left the movie running and take a 5 or even 10 mins walk around, you will still be in that scene! You would not loose anything in that movie. The story was good, but lacked depth.

I saw Clockwork Orange due to all the hype surrounding it. But having seen modern disturbing films, this movie failed to live up to its hype. I dont think that movie has aged well. The actor who plays Alex irritated me to no bounds!

watched
1) warrior - good acting, kind of reminded of Rocky series. but good acting by both actors (brothers in the movie) tom hardy and joel edgerton... say 3.5 / 5

2) the debt - offbeat movie on the mossad (israel), decent watch.... 3/5

The Adjustment Bureau
Larry Crowne is a chick flick and a light any day any time movie. Watched it sometime back with wifey and it was a good time pass flick. Nice movie, i liked it. I normally enjoy watching more serious movies based on war and crime and suspense and mystery but this was a nice pleasant change.

BTW, is it only me or does Tom Hanks bear a very strong resemblance to Aamir Khan? Have this thought nagging me for decades now.

#7 is a nice movie but if you're watching the uncensored version please ensure that you have privacy. Same goes with The Devils Double.

Our idiot brother is slow paced but a nice drama. Good for a one time watch and a pleasant change from the serious movies out there.

The Devils Double opens by saying its based on true events. I dont know if this is true or not but the movie portrays extremely sadistic and flamboyant behavior of the former dictator of Iraq, Saddam's son, Uday. Again, ensure kids are not around. There are some graphic scenes and excessive use of foul language. Other than that the movie is good.

Watched MI 4.
Felt that Tom Cruise is venturing into James Bond + Die Hard territory. Though the action sequences were good, there was nothing in the script to keep me engaged.
3/5 just for the entertainment quotient :-)

MI4 released in India on 16 Dec and had a limited release in US (IMAX & other large-format theaters only) on the same day. However, the general release was on 21st Dec.

Tintin was released in Belgium on 23rd October, in India on 11 Nov and in the US just yesterday, 21 Dec!

Why an international release before US?
The reason for this delay is because the U.S. is one of the few places in the world that isnít all that familiar with Tintin. An international release before a U.S. premiere will give the studios the critical reaction and box office results to judge how to handle promoting Tintin in the States.

And why in Belgium first? Herge and his comics are from that country

Add me to the list. I find both of them resembling each other so much that on an unsuspecting day someone could easily gull me to believe that they are brothers
