Default HVK@Sambalpur

Right now had a talk with HVK and he is just entering Sambalpur and will be staying there for the night. As I leave Siliguri today midnight [tentative time] for Calcutta, in all probability we will be crossing each other, my guess-estimate around Panagarh side.

This will be a moment for me to cherish and sure will be ready with the camera to have this moment captured, if we cross each other - keeping my fingers crossed!!

HVKumar is somewhere near Kharagpur now. He plans to enter Kolkata to buy 2 tyres (his 2 tyres have severe cut hence delaying his schedule). Planetrocker will receive him from Vidyasagar setu to the Kolkata Tyrewala (Minku, who has already kept two Duellers AT ready for Kumar).

THere might be a small meet with Arindam, GSMINC, Planet and others at City Center, Salt Lake.

Edit: sorry - forgot to take any pic of the passengers on board (HVK, his wifey and son, son's friend, HVK's friend)
Edit2: only one of the rear BS Dueler ATs went bust (LHS) - the rhs AT went in as the spare replacing the baldy tubes Dueler - somehow Minku could not source AT and hence we settled for HT tyres in the same profile with same speed rating of 105S

Fantastic Planet. Thanks on behalf of the other Kolkatans. I was late by just half an hour - wish I had seen your message earlier.

Plant, HVK had only recently shod his truck with new boots. What caused the rip in the sidewalls of these two rear tyres? Very alarming. Was it a manufacturing fault or something else?

Hai,

Just talked to HVK, he's in central Bhutan and having a time of this life

Was describing: One one side is one of the most beautiful valley, we have just decended from 10,000 feet to 7000, Oops.. I'd better concentrate... another side, off the road is about 1000 feet down. Will reach Gujarat, Chotila around 28th, we'll try to meet there!!!

Well..... this is going to be one hell of a travalogue when it happens.

All the best HVK and bring back tonns of information and an excell sheet that would live for 1000 years

This is going to turn out a great travelogue and a 'sticky' for those looking to travel in this region ( as are the rest of HVK's journeys) .

Way to go HVK!

As per SMS exchange with HVK last night, he was in Tashigang in eastern Bhutan yesterday, having traversed Bhutan from west to east. He goes to Guwahati today from Tashigang. The first 180 kms would be down the mountains upto the border town of Samdrup Jhonkar.
Can't wait to go back to those lofty heights and serene mountains. I leave Calcutta for eastern Bhutan on 9th May.
