I wonder Why RP Singh is not in the squad.
Ishant Sharma too is very unpredictable.

I don't understand how Jadeja got into this team. He is turning out to be worse than Kaif. At least Kaif was able to get the ball off the square occasionally for boundaries. Jadeja seems clueless. Looks like he & Yusuf perform best only when Warnie is around.

And Kaif was a much better fielder. Jadeja is indeed a poor choice.

[quote=BenjiRoss;1336356]While the win for India looks convincing on paper, the fact that Bangladesh came within 30 runs of the target means that if they had had 2 good overs anytime (say of 15 each) India would have lost - typical T20 scenario.
its not unlikely that teams like Australia, new Zealand etc could not have done that.
Since India is the easiest group, I feel they'll enter the quarters a little too casually.

India needs to analyse this game they won very carefully as a lot of their weaknesses were visible - slow middle overs, few fielding lapses, etc.
Recurrent experimenting with openers and batting order can ruin a game - and from the quarters you get only once chance![/quot]

You are right that any top would have done it especially after the start the Bangladesh got.run rate was better than India's in 1st 7-8overs.

Jadeja has played two games at intl. level,1st being 50overs match against sriLanka. There he had the chance to win a game for India but he just couldn't accelerate in the last overs and was happy to have a not out 50 eventhough India lost the match.I think India needed to score at run rate of 7-8 which is not difficult these days.

Again against NZ he had to score at the run rate of 8-9 but once again he was happy to pick singles only. Its a shame for a recognised batsman to unable to score what is the norm in one-day and T-20 these days.

And thats what precisely the reason why Irfan is in India team.Although his bowling has suffered a lot but he has improved as batman and in IPL he was the finisher for KXIP team and won few matches batting at no.7/8.

I would prefer Yusuf at no 3 coz its not swinging that much and he should be told to play freely without the fear of getting out.If he can bat for 3-4overs India should be looking at 180 plus.

Ireland put it across to Bangladesh. Good riddance to an over hyped team.

Ozs gathered some momentum towards the end after getting some harsh treatment in the middle over ... Waiting to see them getting thrown out of the tournament ......

I think they will be going home sooner than they thought. They need to win with big margin against SL in-case SL defeats WI (which they will do IMO).
And with 160 to win i dont think Aus can post big win if at all they win.

I liked the way the Sri Lankans play, most often it seems like a smooth cruise.

I like that. Bangladesh deserved to be chucked out of this cup. So we are going to have Netherlands & Ireland in the super 8.

The current Australian team is clueless about T20. Also it goes to show that Ponting is an over hyped captain. Without the key players, they are no where.
Bye bye Ozzies, thanks for turning up.

Ireland is in but still have my doubts about Netherlands making it, they still need to put it across Pakistan which won't be easy !

I wouldn't prefer that though.
Would love to see them getting beaten by India. That will be the best way to kick them out.
