I think they have purposefully avoided the ashok chakra to their advantage. As the offer suggests, it is related to independence day and hence the flag also.

But they didn't want to get into any controversies, so avoided the ashok chakra. This will enable them to say that they have not used an Indian flag and hence nobody can question them.

its it appropriate??omg, the world has come to an end... run for cover

All they have done have used a tricolour pennant to symbolise indianness and put out an offer for independence day

i guess we should spank all the cricket fans with tricolour face paint silly

And no wonder we cant really move forward and discusses measures to educate, reduce poverty etc, when even our parliament 7 state assemblies waste most of their time discussing frivolous topics like this

We all use the tricolour in various avtaar to symbolise india............Hiding out flag doesnt make it stronger!

This advert would be inappropriate for someone, some group or the opposition to create a ruckus and if possible try to fleece dominos off some dough.
As long as the flag is not disrespected in unusual ways there is no need for concern.

Clearly dominos has been hiding (disguising) it too. While it's upto the parliament to change the way the flag is displayed, until then dominos was better off using other ways to promote their pizza than sneak in the indian flag in disguise.

While it's not "world is coming to end, run for cover", it's definitely cheap tactics.

On a similar note, I hate "patel brothers" and "india gate rice" using all kinds of patriotic/nostalgic images, lyrics and messages only to end it with their commercial punchline (zee US).
