Point noted. Your knowledge on birds is amazing, and so are your pictures.

Two more from my side:

Don't know the Species (Pigeon, maybe):

Great Egret in Flight (Wished I would have framed the bird on the left side):

Redrage: That is some fantastic work, what gear do you use, and where did you shoot this stuff?

TG: We can see the wings of the humming bird, how did you capture it?

Over exposure means Data Lose in highlighted areas. So we will not be able to recover it during the PP. Under exposed is still ok. We can recover the exposure up to one stop During PP (Post Processing). You should always use exposure compensation, and change it according to subject. If you are shooting white bird, underexpose it. If you are shooting Black, Over expose it to get the details. Now, what if you are shooting a Black and white bird . Well, find out the "G-Spot" of your lens. And forget about Digital blending or HDR, it will not work for Birds. I always set my Display to "Highlight" so i know if my image is burned as soon as i take it. If its burned i will take one more ASAP. Remember you may not get it again.

In your picture, I reduced the brightness, did a touch-up with Burn Tool, Cloned out a little distraction on left side and a lil bit of Sharpening.
Great! Your PP did wonders to the pic. Guess I need to dabble with Photoshop sometime soon, once I get the time away from work and cars.

But then, , PS is an expensive software. Is it worth investing in it? And I don't even use a DSLR - just a Sony H3.

@Redrage
Again i must say, i loved your birding stuff!

@Sreerajunnithan
Well I shoot only in RAW. I was talking about the server jpeg compression! Humming birds are not there in our homeland? Really?

@Samurai
Well, I shot that at shutterspeed of 8000.

Pelicans always glide very close to the sea, riding the air current...

Liked both of your shots. You know that's a rare parakeet. Its known as "Red-Breasted Parakeet" Congrats for the rare catch . I never thought Corbett is a habitat for these. All shots i have seen is from north east India. Did you remember seeing the reddish color? refer this Red-breasted Parakeet - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia. Was it similar? if so, you are very lucky. I have never seen the same from Jim Corbett.

No we don't have Humming Birds here. Only sunbirds. Excellent shot of pelican. Is it a full frame? If not, crop again to leave some space around the bird, and a bit more space towards the flight path, and please post the result.

A good compo can give you excellent results and Mood. Look at the below picture. I was trying to capture the Mood of Sleepy and dull surroundings. It was a very cloudy day and i was not so lucky in terms of the bird i was behind. But, this one image made my day, and still remails one of my favorite. Look at the suject - a very common Collered Dove (Wild). The fame has a touch of green, kinda moody BG (Clouds) and touch of red twigs. Look around you, you can do a lot of experiments on bird photography.

Thanks
--Sree--

Looks like the picture was not added properly, i exceeded 20 minutes for editing. Here is the picture. Mods can you please add this picture to above thread.
