I need a chaeffuer even though i cannot afford one (I an in me not family) as i do not have a DL.
But we have 4 of them in our family because no one except my dad has a valid DL and my dad just uses a chaefuer to park his car or during traffic (the CDI engine has influenced him and now he is willing to go to the other side of town just to enjoy the drive).

I am tempted to bump up this 5-year-old thread, with a request to mods for a change in the title of the thread to Your chauffeur | Pics, Anecdotes and Comments.

The amazing experience of BHPian unoczar with his driver, who doesn't even look like he is old enough to drive, can be read on his own thread (Summers in India - south to north... to hell and back!) in great detail.

I am sure many other members on this forum employ / have employed idiosyncratic chauffeurs like this, and would like to share such tales with us. We look forward to reading about the experiences of those brave souls here, who trust their lives and rides to these chauffeurs.

So bring on those stars!

I have personally not employed a chauffeur in the last 25 years, except on one day some 7 years ago, when I had to go out but had a severe low back pain which made driving uncomfortable. On my return, I decided I could bear the back pain better than the chest pain announcing an impending heart attack, and have never again let a chauffeur touch any of my cars again.

I voted for 'No, because I like to drive myself', because there is no option available which stated: 'No, because I do not want my car driven by others'. That would have been the most apt option I would have voted for.

Being a motor head, I love to drive by myself at all the time no matter its congested city or even got struck in the traffic jam, I like to remain behind the steering wheel.

As a child, I always thought it was cool to have a chauffeur.

Now, that I can drive. I never let anyone behind the wheel of my cars, even my parents!

Have two drivers in the family, its only Dad / Mom / Sister who are chauffeur-driven. I prefer to drive myself (duh!) 99% of the times, but do use the chauffeur if the place I'm visiting has a severe parking issue, and on nights out (only on the way back). Remember, as a Team-BHPian, we cannot drink & drive. For the Bombay gang, here's an excellent late night chauffeur service : Linky.

In a forum like team-bhp, the number of votes for the option "No, I like to drive myself" will obviously overshadow the other options.

We do have a driver primarily for my parents. I use him and one of my parents cars when going to places notorious for parking problems and especially when visiting factories who will not let your car in come what may, a trend started by none other than MUL themselves.

To date he has not been allowed to crank my Swift and the Cedia.
