Yes, I am in Dwarka sector 3. Not fat or overweight, but a slight tummy so thought will start some excercise.

I am a member, so thinking of trying out the sports complex in sec 10 - either the track or the gym

If you take the membership the gym and track can both be done. I see a few guys who do that. And if you choose the track maybe we can have a bhp jog together. Hehe!

Which shoes do you have Abhishek?

I used to come home late and since my endurance was decreasing I started running early morning at the sports complex. Must say it feels better to go running in the morning.

I am so glad you stuck to running even with those knee issues.

What time do you usually go running?
I agree running is the best, and i hate running on treadmills, its ughh so boring. These days i go out in the evening after 6-30
earlier i used to go in the morning.
But working in a job, where you have no fixed working hours,it becomes a pain to maintain the work out schedule, still trying hard to be regular.
as of now i can manage 8kms in 50 mins.

Hi Akshay,

Very inspirational stuff. I was just 92kgs when compared to you and came down to 74, I run in the mornings as I am in office in the evenings but yes it requires a lot of effort which can be understood by someone who has been there and come down from those peaks.

Keep it up and I wish you healthy long running schedules.

Rgds,

Shammi

Hi Phamilyman,

My brother-in-law has run a marathon. On his recommendation I researched online for my shoe type since me and my father both have flat feet and I was complaining on pain in my inner soles on lost distance walks or runs.

The pain was significantly reduced.

I had a long run in Nike Air shoes for about 2 years. Based on my condition (flat feet) Adidas Supernova was the next right shoe. However, the run was a little taxing since it was a little too padded up for my comfort.

My sister on a job assignment had to go to the US, so I got the Brooks Beast based on reviews from people who have the same foot issues. This has been my shoe past 2-3 months. No complaints. In fact I use it on long drives too.

Ok so while we are on this topic i would also like to share a few details about my weight loss effort in the last 75 days (2 1/2 months).

I am 6ft tall and have tenancy to put on weight very easily. Also my current lifestyle is just not conducive and hence adds to the weight gain aspect.

But reading on this thread (got some really good solutions/suggestions/information here) and looking at some real life examples of close friends i decided got motivated to go for it. (this was not my first attempt)

I was 117kgs on 3rd April 2012 when i enrolled for the gym close to my house.

75 days later (16th June 2012) i have come down to the double digits at about 99-98kgs.

My immediate target is to come down to 95kgs by end of this month. Long way to go even after that..

Thanks Abhishek for the entire story of your journey to this end. It is actually is anyone's story (mine as well) to go though the roller coaster.

Me too am a 100+ club member, did one sprint of loss 3 years back to loose 20+ kilos over a 6 months period (gym and diet) and gain it all back in the last 2 years.

So really getting a strong push from my brain to start it all over again but for my lazy bones. Hope this read will kick my behind to start off. Thanks.

This IMO is the best words from your post and will follow it this time for sure.
