1st gear top speed

people wssup how u all doin
just the other day i was pulling my car in the first gear and i realised that my car goes till 40kmph at about 4800 rpm....but i had to switch to second cause the engine was making awful noises..
i ride an old honda city type 1 and only mods are a full body kit, new 205 tyres and an automech free flow exhaust...
wanted to know if this top speed in first gear is allrite or should i get more speed
what speeds do yourll achieve in ur respectie cars

your car has a revv limit of 6800 rpm.so thats the limit.

hey speedsatya whats speed can a zen go upto reving at about 4500 - 5000 rpm in each gear while not totally redlining.i mean just till about 5k on the tachometer.

because i dont have a tacho yet going to get one really soon.

i get 40 k's in the alto 1st gear ...
in my corsa i can pull it to 45ish ...

you can pull it all the way to 6500rpm no hassles ,just that your ripping your engine bad ..

a mpfi zen has a max of 6k rpm.





i thinkin 5th gear mine does 100 at 3200 rpm,80kph at 2600rpm ,60 kph at 2000 rpm.


its 120 at 3600 rpm but till 4000 there is no increasein speed.its 160 speedo at 5000 rpm.




in the 4th gear its 160 at 6000 rpm.


second gear 5000 is 70 kph(not sure)



since your's is a carb zen,it has alimit of 6500 rpm.

so tell me till what rev limit should i pull the car in first so as to achieve about 60...since u say so..will my engine suffer big time....

no man only if u cross the limiter it willsuffer...but till 60 i do not think it suffers...read the manual..you will get to know whats the max rpm of the car...displays 8..must be 7.? something...can pull till that much and it wil touch 60..or do 1 thing just test it by yourself...pull it hard..keep your on on the speed and the rpm..1ce u get a jerk and feel that the car is not feeling strong ...shift to 2nd...do not pull it after u feel that jerk and loss of complete power...itll definately touch 60 and remember the rpm meter...whenever you drag next..you will have to be particular and shift accordingly...
if you overrev many times and for along time..it will affect your engine in the sense..it will get too hot..so better not do it many times...might happen sometimes for half a second or something..but better if it doesnt happen

the OHC does not do 60k's in 1st ..I am sure you'll hit the limiter before that..

see when you hit the limiter ..you'll feel a knock down ..your revs wont rise niether wil your speed ..car will lose forward momentum..keep pushing in the same gear and you'll badly damage the internals !overheat ,blow your pistons..

why are you so obsessed with 1st gear top speed anyways ?

im not obssed wih first gear speeds..is just that i was pushing the car the other day and i found out that i could do only about 40 50...was worried if thats ok or was something wrong with the car...i reved it only till about 5000 rpm so i gues the car is ok thennnn..

dude the engine is affected when you feel that jerk..or a knock down as you said...and i can lay bet on this that honda 1.5 can reach 60 without overrev that is knockdown...
