| BHPian | and hyderabad is the cheapest city to live in. they say that the amount you pay for rent in mumbai for a flat is 10 times more than they pay in Hyderabad. this was a report in Bombay times around 3 years back when the survey showed this results. Shubbhi

| Delhi's way too expensive, and Gurgaon where i stay, is even more dear. The distances are so much that I spend around 8K a month on just the office commute and little weekend drives in the city. Waste of time and money...just wishing the Metro started from my plc real soon. Bummer... Manti.

| tsk, delhi is good as far you know where to go....very exp to dirt cheap. I'm talking about distances. I drive from gurgaon to CP and back, a total of a bit more than 60 km a day. Coupled with a few odd runs (non-office), that translates to heavy fuell bills (and I drive an 800!). Fuel's cheaper in delhi though, than in ggn. Manti.

| i think ..what bombay lacks is decent accomodation man .. atleast with the kind of rent one has to pay for a 1 bed room apartment in bombay is huge, compared to what that amount would fetch us in delhi... delhi ..transportation i feel is costlier in terms of ttravelling distance .. i know man ..i am a part time schauffer for my mom .. we fill 400 bucks worth of gas every 3 trips (up/down) that to0 for the alto!

| I believe that the costliest city in India is Pune, which also happens to be the most overrated! Cable TV ~ 450/- Petrol > 48.33/- Autorickshaw ~ 20/- min. charge The only things free are potholes and people driving on the wrong side of the road. - mvk |

| Senior - BHPian | Kolkata .. I guess there aren't too many on this forum from here .. but it's real good mix out here .. if you have the inclination to spend .. you have such places .. and you also have places you can have a full fledged lunch for 15/-... I like it out here .. nice and comfy .. infrastructure wise it's obviously lagging .. but I've seen definite improvements in the past few years ..
