Default Kolkata - All Sector "V"ians choose color of the Sec V Flyover!

Yup even I was shocked to see that KMDA actually gave all the folks who would soon become users of the Wipro Crossing Flyover a chance to decide it's color.

Here's the link to cast your vote: ::KMDA::Colour your Bridge

Please mention your choice as well:

My choice:
Body of the Flyover: Blue
Piers: Yellow
Under the flyover: Shopping Area (that area really needs some shops )

This is a very good initiative by KMDA to invoklve public also. But no one knows how much of advice these govt people will take from public and even if taken and promised how much will be implemented?Time has to tell

nice initiative .. just that democracy at times leads to blunders Hope the link goes to the right people !!!

My choice:

Body of the Flyover: Blue
Piers: White (Difficult to maintain although)
Under the flyover: Green Zone (Kolkata REALLY needs some good amount of these green zones)

This is a cool thing. I heard of it from my friend who is an HR in Webspiders of such an initiative. Hope the survey poll results into something good and the same is incorporated.
I opted for Green. Didn't find much options in green though. But some greenery will definitely do some justice to the place.
Though I am sure they will sell it to some shop owners as that is how they will make money.

I hope they make the piers red. Otherwise, it's anyway going to become red with all the pan chewing spitters.

Read about this in the paper.

The surrounding area of the flyover in the snap is so unlike what it actually is

+1 - have they repaired the roads there. what about the sudden lane changes across the dividers?

This flyover will be inaugurated in the next hour or so. Sector V roads are apparently being blocked for the CM and other VIPs.

last Sunday - i almost went through the barricade near the flyover - can you beat it - just one bamboo with a fade red cloth.

@ Shuvc enjoy the traffic - else take the other exit to rajarhat.

Default The Flyover is now open!!!

While returning from office I noticed that the flyover has been decorated with lights in such a way I mistook it be "Diwali" today. The builders of the flyover are so jubilent over this less than half kilometer flyover that they couldnt keep things short and simple and open it to the road users asap. One observation that comes to mind at first look is that like all the other flyovers that have come in Kolkata before this even this one's heading to become a traffic stopper than traffic smoother. Now most of the traffic from Sec V, Airport & New Town will try to use the new flyover therefore creating a new bottleneck new Nicco SuperBowl crossing . IMHO the flyover should have carried on till after Nicco Park or Nalban to actually have served some real purpose.

Sorry for the extremely poor pic taken from the Nokia E63:
