It seems he died early morning today in Mysore due to heart attack.
A sad day for Kannada filmdom and it leaves a huge void in the Kannada film industry. He was one of the stalwarts of the Kannada cinema and rubbed shoulders with giants like Rajkumar. He has acted in some of the best remembered kannada movies of all time like Naagarahaavu, Boothaiyyana maga aiyyu, etc. He represented the class of acting of the old times like the 70's and 80's which is etched in peoples minds and hearts.

With his departure the already ailing kannada film industry is at a great loss. He was to Kannada like what Rishi kapoor was to Bollywoood.

We miss him very much.

Unhappy

Felt sad after hearing the news today morning. He was a legendary actor in his own right. I would like to offer my condolences to his family. Hope no one indulges in violence in his name. He was one of a kind.

Another fact is that he died relatively young at only 59 years of age. Too bad he couldn't do his 200th film

I grew up watching his movies. I used to refer to him as my guru in those days, when we used to worship heroes. One of the true actors we had. I will definitely miss him. May his soul rest in peace.
