There are way too many movies that I could list but I gotta tell you the adrenaline rush I got as a teenager watching Days of Thunder, Man!! that was too much!

Some that needs to be listed and in no particular order:

Transporter 1 & 2
Fast & Furious (all of them)
Italian Job
Mad Max (a different sort)
Need for Speed (french movie)

Default Childs play

How about adults of the next generation. (Todays children) who would probably vote for "Cars"

Actually wonder, how is come about to be that the "Herbie series" which was my personal favorite is not too visible on the posts.

my favorites with some details

The Fast and the Furious (2001) and also Tokyo drift
Stars: Paul Walker, Vin Diesel
Star cars: Mitsubishi Eclipse, Toyota Supra, Honda Civic, Mazda RX-7, Dodge Charger R/T, Volkswagen Jetta
The story: Cop goes undercover in L.A.'s import street-race scene to bust a ring of electronics thieves.
Why it works: It pushed the burgeoning import car culture into the mainstream. The cars were a little cartoonish but earned street cred for having been built by actual import tuners. It's best during bumping nighttime street races, even though we've never seen as much neon at a real import show. As unbelievable as the race and chase sequences are, they're still pretty cool.
Quote: "I live my life a quarter-mile at a time."

Mad Max
(1979)

Star: Mel Gibson
Star car: Australian Ford Falcon
The story: Super Cop Max takes on a motorcycle gang in the near future a tale of revenge driven by post-apocalyptic cars and crotch rockets.
Why it works: Drama, suspense, violence, dark humor, and that wicked, supercharged Falcon screaming across Australia's empty vastness. It's simple, low budget and gritty.
Quote: "Look, any longer out on that road and I'm one of them, a terminal psychotic except that I've got this bronze badge that says that I'm one of the good guys."
Gone In Sixty Seconds (2000)

Director: Dominic Sena

Star: '67 Mustang

People: Nicolas Cage, Angelina Jolie

Why: The climactic chase is ruined--ruined--by lousy computer graphics during the big jump. But there are people who love this remake. How else to explain all the clones of Eleanor, the faked-up Shelby Mustang?

Ronin (1998)

Director: John Frankenheimer

Stars: BMW M5, Mercedes 6.9, Audi S8

People: Robert DeNiro, Jean Reno

Why: The cars are European, but at least they're the hot-rodversions that these modern-day mercenaries drive through three greatchases. Unfortunately DeNiro never looks comfortable driving. But atleast one character knows the details on his Audi's nitrous system.

Cobra (1986)

Director: George P. Cosmatos

Star: '50 Mercury

People: Sylvester Stallone, Brigitte Neilsen

Why: It's one of the dumbest cop movies ever made with Stallone spewing cheesy dialog like, "You're the disease and I'm the cure." But he drives a nasty '50 Merc that pounds through a harrowing chase scene with pure menace. Watch for the moment when the Merc's speedo shows the car is going 80 mph and the tach shows the engine churning at 8,400 rpm. It's only then that he hits the nitrous.

The Italian Job (1969)

Director: Peter Collinson

Stars: Mini Coopers, Lamborghini Miura

People: Michael Cain, Noel Coward, Benny Hill

Why: This is the ultimate British car movie with Minis doing amazing stunts and all the blokes talking in indecipherable accents as they plan and execute a gold robbery in Turin. Could it be better? Yeah, they could have been driving Camaros. Skip the remake.

I saw Transporter 3 on Friday, and it has an awesome car chase between a Merc and the hero's Audi in scenic Europe.
But some action scenes have been souped up so much that even our Hindi movie directors will start blushing---like the car falling deep into a river and starting soon after it is pulled out, or remaining apparently intact even after crashing into a train coach.
