Default I wish I never bought that!

Have you ever bought a car and regretted it. May be the car was a dog, may be not, it just did not suit you!

My only regret was buying a Tata Sierra. It served well for my honeymoon ad first year after marriage. After that, it started giving horrendous problems like pumping out 20+ volts instead of 12 volts. Bits falling off etc. Last straw was the steering linkage falling off on the way to a funeral. It could have been mine!

Luckily, I sold it off before better things came into the market

So far, no other regrets, touch wood!

What have been your misfortunes

Fix It Pro Pen - scratch repair kit from Tele shopping network.

I read the review in almost all sites and all of them gave a negative feedback about the product - the tip becomes hard as a stone after one use. I read the review after i bought the product. The pack is still sealed.

My regret was buying a Tata Indica Turbo DLG.

Bought it for the amazing mileage it promised to deliver . The turbo was for some thrill ability. Somehow it failed to impress. However had it around for a good three years and sold it.

Had an Indica v2 petrol in 2002. Regretted it big time . Sold it in less than 3 years because of problems. Lousy car. Since then decided to be away from tata cars.

My Ford Escort in 1998. Though it served fairly well, in hindsight the Mitsubishi Lancer would have been the better choice at that point of time. The niggles were regarding the exhaust pipe, catalytic converter, steering vibration and so on.

Another vote for an indica. Its become a white elephant, delivering neither the mileage ( 12ish) nor the power ( tops out at 100 kmph) after 2+ years.

Bought it for 4.3L If i were to sell it now, might get 2.8 or so. If I'd bought a swift D for 1L more , i could have sold it for only a little less even now.

Well, what's done is done, might as well flog it till its worthless

i did have a sierra during my engineering days. It served me quite well. I dont remember it giving me any issues whatsoever. Infact i have only fond memories of it. My 1st drive in that was to Tirupati. I remember enjoying the A/c sitting in the rear.

I dont have anything to regret for sure and i hope i will not buy anything that i would regret , Of course! by GOD'S grace.

^^^Same here on the Sierra. No Regret, All Love. I own a 2002 Tata Sierra Turbo since last year and has been running fine without any problems. Love the Sierra and my buy was a heart over mind decision after a hard search in late 2008. Though many people complain about the maintainence costs and frequent break-downs of the Sierras, haven't had any in mine, touchwood, and its been as reliable as our others cars in the household. My folks love the rear sofa and spaciousness it offers. I have never spent for anything on the Sierra except for regular servicing at TATA motors. Just recently got the upholstery and seat covers changed. The A/C works fine cooling the entire inner space. The best part is the rear-seat folds-away for a lot of cargo space. Have hauled more than a ton of iron blocks and the turbo engine still had a lot of juice. On highways, it easily maintains over 100s. Even at that speeds, it drives smooth and handles good.

Though I owned the Toyota RAV4/4Runner abroad for couple of years, still feel that owning and driving the Sierra is lot more fun.

Long Live the Sierra!

Worst thing on wheels which I bought was a Saffire scooter from Bajaj in 2000 for Rs 35000.. This was the first four stroke scooter in India, and before the launch of the Activa. Te Sffire is the worst scooter ever made any where in the entire world. It boasted of automatic three speed transmission et al. This transmission would work whenever it wanted and riding the scooter was a horrendous affair. The engine was a rebored M80 one t0 93cc. Thank heavens Bajaj's exited from scooter segment for ever.

The Apple I- Phone 3g.

No doubt it has the coolest interphase, multi point touchscreen and decent looks. However the way Apple restricts the user is just bloody appalling. I paid 30k for this phone, but I cannot share stuuf via bluetooth. For a gadget costing 30 k there's no video recording and no flash in the camera. Everytime I have to add some content or dump content on the PC I have to "sync" the phone using I-tunes which is really crappy and frustrating. I am restricted to getting GPRS services from vodafone and am being mercilessly ripped off for the mediocre connectivity that Vodafone provides. To obtain any additional features, I have to connect the phone to my pc, purchase and download apps which is a big waste of time. Believe it or not the I-Phone is the worst phone that I have ever used. It may be a good gadget but it's a poor phone. The number of calls that I miss is mind boggling. There are people who try to call me and face difficulty getting connected while the phone just sits there and doesn't ring at all. I have checked this problem it's not a network issue. It's a common problem with the I-phone, you miss a significant percentage of incoming calls.

This experience with the I-phone has just completely put me off Apple products. You cannot just charge a bomb ad then restrict your customers' utility. My experiece with Sony Ericcson has been much better and my next phone will be a SE or the New Google phone. I am never ever spending my money on any Apple products no matter how many favorable reviews they get. Apple may have billions of other customers but they're not getting any business from me anymore.

Ajmat, Is this restricted to cars only?

Or can we include bikes(bicycles or motorcycles)?

My greatest regret was digging in for a Ford Escort 1.8 D. At that time , it was a good looking car for me, and always wanted one. Picked up a 2 year old Olive green vehicle when I was in college final year, Delhi.

The vehicle was good at almost everything, diesel had good grunt, being a heavy car, handling was also at par & obviously the cheaper gas, always put a smile on my face.

But then the car after 1 year or so started giving trouble. Climbing the Hills of Nainital one day, the radiator fan died, had to roll the car back to the valley, got some "jugaad" done by our local mechanic. Once back in Delhi, the radiator burst.

I used to get my car serviced at Khan market, and to my surprise, I was told by my mechanic there, I should have gone for a used Benz, since I can procure most of the spares for the "Benz" at cheaper rates than that of an Escort. What a Bummer.

This vehicle was once hell of a machine with all the hell loose inside the hood.

Though it was lovely to drive, and surely if spares wouldn't have been in scarcity , I would have still driving this machine, unfortunately it's still lying some where back in Delhi, and I really have no idea where. It's been almost 5 years now.

My Indica V2 DLS. The affordable diesel at that time (2001), but... 3 years and 96,000 km later, I was so glad to have been rid of it.

I have some frustration too about Apple's policies, but look at how biased your post is. There's a way to present better assurance among readers to be aware of the way things are.

Anyways, for myself, I regret "not buying" a car phone holder. I lost my iPhone 3GS 32GB in Nov. It fell from my lap when I got out of car.

Someone's also going to say, no iPhone vs the rest talk in this thread please. :P
