Default Holiday in Goa ... Where to stay?

Hey all, I am looking forward to a much awaited vacation in Goa ... All of you frequent Goa holidayers (and I am sure there are quite a few ...), where do you prefer to stay in Goa? I am looking for something in the 15000 (3n/4d) bracket.

Any tips would be immensely helpful.

(Yeah, I know that Goa's peak season has started from October 1)

Try the Bogmallo Beach resort. Safe beach. Away from the crowd and I think the off season rates should be 8,000 for the time you want to spend out there.

I cant recommend the best place, but I certainly can recommend one place that you SHOULD NOT go to - DONT consider the Marriot Goa as its a total waste of time. No beach, no nothing.

That bad, huh? Ravaged? I hope you have not damaged it to much. hire a Qualis.

I really liked the place. Call them and book if you want those low rates.

I have been to Goa only once in my life, that too last year, we stayed 4 days at Ceda-de-goa or something like that. It was a package deal and food (breakfast/lunch/dinner) was great and free. I would recommend that place.

However, Goa looked too much like my native place 300Kms south along the same coast. Same vegetation, same food, same weather, except beaches around my native place are cleaner and deserted. Basically it took the fun out of going to Goa.

hey,
what kind of a holiday are you looking at?? chilled and peacefull? or the partying and being in the thick of things kind?
the south beaches are perfect for the former and the north is better for the latter ( baga, calacut, vagatore, anjuna etc)..there all kinds of nice resorts in these places, not 5 stars but. you could try ronils, captin lobos, goan heritage, kamat, victot exotica, nizmar and of course the taj aguada near kingfisher mansion.

I will second TypeO-ve, Bogmallo is good. I would also suggest the Taj Holiday Village but now they have winter rates and that would more expensive than the pre-October rates.

Check out the following link:-
http://www.gogoa.com/bogmallo-beach-resort.html

If you call the hotel directly, you get better rates.

Hey Camry,

When do u plan on going. I would suggest you try Club Mahindra or Royal Goan Beach Club. RGBC is a time share resort which is superb. They have 5 locations in Goa and a weeks stay there for a 1BHK apt should cost you 10-12K. This is the link to their site.

http://www.royalresorts.com.au/resor...t_monterio.php

Also one little bit of info if you inten dflying go by Spice Jet. Their fares are amongst the cheapest and change daily. Its not that the earlier you book the cheaper it is. Current fares are 2k for a return for the month of November as I myself am going in November and just booked them.

Hope this info is of use.

http://mhril.com/goa_package.asp

BTW, I am a Life Member (25 Years). Been there twice liked it. Secluded beach, good service, daily activities..

Good for Families with kids. Not that good for singles or stags.

Just my 2 paise worth of comments.

Hey Camry

Try Majorda its nice but Kennil Worth is better and i feel Holiday Inn is better then these two! It has all the features and is not haunted like Majorda(that is if you get a room behind a tree)

Cheers
