Heard that it is now run by a different owner under the name Platinum.

The one in ECR was EC41.
That too was a hep place on the beach with an MTV kind of setup
in the open.

Once been there after buying some auto parts in GP road.
The music was so loud and reverberating off the hard-tiled floor,
and we asked the DJ for some soothing music.
He suggested we go to the backside where another bar is there
and you will get classical music.

Man that was a mumbai type Dance bar where cheap looking girls
were dancing and some auto drivers were showering money..
indeed the music was classical!!!
but everthing else was awfull.. LOL
So is this EC41 still alive now??

Man, this My Bar is getting more interesting than the actual Discs in chennai. Guess we should have one on the Team BHP meets there.

Has anyone been to this place Star Rock, in Kodambakkam High Road, one of my north indian friend suggested this place some months back. Is
this place decent ??

Dude, you went there and didn't hear the music!? The SPL would have knocked your socks off. They play only western pop and techno.

Never knew about the 'classical' side at the back. lol The front side was good enough for me. And the place has AC.

Havana & 10D are very good.

Pasha will easily be the most expensive, but if you want to see the movie crowds & lots of skin then you should go there.

You will see the boxters & Hummers in the parking lot over the weekend.

Sparks has oflate become more of a pickup joint. Haven't been there for quite a while; not sure of the current status though.

HFO is more of teen crowd now-a-days.

I kind of hated bikes & barrels; that too looks a bit shady. Infact many of the rich guys use that hotel for quick romps

Never knew Highspirits has a disco now...

I was to EC41 also known as Exodus - Its within the VGP arena. It was New year's eve. The set up was like the MTV beach parties. It started off well. Half way through none were on the dance floor. Guess what ,,the DJ turned to Kollywood songs like "Appadi podu""Villu songs",,and boy .. came the Tsunami men!!! with all the Nag dance of sorts..

I really enjoyed the day for the Chennai kuthus, rather than for the DJ nite.

So thats EC41 for you...

So Xingamazon had better hone up his 'Pambu Attam' skills if he wants to go to EC41/Exodus.

Hey but this EC41/ Exodus is not open on all weekends right, its only for New Year Parties is it...?

Ok decided on trying Havana over the weekend, but I am seriouly planning to give My Bar a try with my other friends of course.
Will also give 10D or Dublin a chance sometime next month.

so the keyword is "classical music" or "soothing music"?

I am still wondering what does this Tsunami men mean, is it a group of guys or something.

And is EC41 alive on other days than new year.

Yes, its like a made up beach party during new years or valentines night. Forgot to mention there was a rock show as well, by some unknown band. They were trying hard to perform - Sweet child-o-mine - GNR. It was so damn funny as the lead vocalist forgot the lyrics and was wapping away like Axel rose.

Boy what a night!!!! All the ones in ECR are only for special occasions.

'My Bar' is good. Don't plan on having any conversation with your friends as it would be impossible to hear even if someone is hollering in your ear. Only sign language works. And let us know if you manage to check out the 'classical music' section in the back side as well.

Is it like an hangout place or a proper discotheque? is there an entry fee etc?
