A brief respite at around 5pm when i decided to get home and i took some pics along the way. The storm water drains are actually working as the roads weren't as flooded given the amount of rain!. Surprise!. Also, nice cooler weather makes up for the rest of the inconveniences like clogged traffic etc.

I guess nothing happens till tomorrow in Odisha (Orissa) and West Bengal. The cyclone Laila may become powerful if it continues to remain near the Bay of Bengal.

Stay safe.

Wrong, these tigers are believed to be man eaters because of cyclones, they say due to cyclones huge number of human dead bodies flow through the sundarbans and that made the tigers learn humans are easy prey. Mods Sorry for going OT

PS is the name of the cyclone Laila of Aila? the news papers in kerala call it Laila

Default Cyclone Laila Updates

Cyclone Laila is very active & is expected to cross land sometime today afternoon near Machilipatnam. The state machinery is in a state of high alert.

NH5-the most important h/w in this region(btwn Chennai & Vizag) in all probabilities is going to be affected,so people travelling on this route are best advised to stay put or shift their plans to some time after the 23rd of May.The cyclone is expected to move towards Orissa & onwards to West Bengal.

How is the weather in TN and AP? Seems it is still near Machlipuram.

Sky is partly cloudy in Kolkata.

Last year it was called Aila and this year Laila

Tweeter has two contradicting updates:

1. High Alert in AP & TN as Laila intensifies - TOI
2. Laila weakens but threat remains - IBN Live

Bangalore is also getting rains during evenings. I love the soothing wind without using heated fans.
Will this bring any impact on south Karnataka region and coastal Karnataka?

Just pray that laila doesn't suck up everything and flood AP/ TN causing damage there and creating drought in rest of country and causing damages again.

Spoke to an old friend at Hyderabad - drizzling in Hyderabad (Road No 3, B-Hills) and stormy weather at Vizag/Vishakhapatnam.

Stay safe.

Weatherman predicted moderate to heavy thunder showers in Chennai today. Not a drop since about 6 pm yesterday.
