The trick is to brake with left leg and accelarate with right, just after a water crossing for a distance of 20m or so to regain braking or whatever little is left of it

Iswear - if you can postpone the appointment, please do so. If you can't, no sweat - you can still make it with some delays.

Thanks for the wonderful pics, pypkmsrikanth, this definitely gives a good idea of the situation.

Looking at the positive side of it : this is time when the two main rivers, Adyar and Couum, are actually rivers, and not just some gutter carrying sewage.

I will also try to get some pics of them today.

So, can anyone talk about which of the "consumer" type cars/vehicles are ideally suited for water-wading?
I see most sedans, hatches puttering out. Some MUV/SUVs make it through waist-deep water, others get stuck. I saw a Gypsy majestically wade into the deep. I remember the Fiesta ads talking about its water-wading prowess - can it handle waist-deep water?

Also, any tips on water wading is appreciated(Apart from not doing it, duh).

Yup it is raining but not as heavily.
Water level is still at the same level in many places.
If you are gonna drive down, Its not really recommended.

Expect certain sections of the GQ to be waterlogged - especially near Vellore. Have noticed in the past that the right lane is always waterlogged when it rains. Stick to the left lane this time if you're driving down.
