And what a shot, a cracking left footer from left side of Uruguayan half into the top far corner upright post & into the net from yards out by the Dutch captain Giovanni van Bronckhorst wearing the no 5 jersey. Was more like a missile.

On top of that as I finish typing the above an equally blistering left footer from top of the D by the no 10 Uruguayan Diego Forlan. The shot looked like going dead straight but turned out to be a gentle banana curving to the left of the Dutch goal keeper, sending him in the wrong direction and kissing his fingertips as it met the net. If I heard right the man has scored after 8 years!! If so must be after 8 years in a World cup match.

Well its 3-1 in favor of the men in orange Its time for Uruguay to fire those engines

Edit : Well well its 3-2 now. The Dutch keeper looks very nervous. They will have to look at a better keeper if they want to win the next one.

Its over. The Dutch are in the Finals.

Cheeky little free kick Uruguay score their 2nd and the match is on again!
20 seconds to go.

Well the Dutch are into the finals after a gap of more than three decades ( last final in '78). I hope they make something out of it.

Remains to be seen how many demons this has put in the minds of the German players. Seems to be a superstitious bunch.

Quote:
Germany coach Joachim Loew will continue to wear his trademark blue sweater at matches and won't have it cleaned while his team keep winning. He claimed on Monday he was not superstitious but admitted that pressure from other coaching staff and players to keep wearing his familiar sweater had paid off ...

He had scored in the previous match as well, when he hit a free kick from just beyond the D. That was a fantastic effort too.

And Germany are going to win
