In this WC, Forlan has been instrumental in getting Uruguay to where they are, and have achieved. He certainly is quite deserving of the award.

For the finals tonite, i would want Spain to win.

+1 to that. Forlan has been exceptional in this WC. When he was not scoring from those magnificent long rangers he was providing those killer passes to Suarez. He has played selflessly for his country and will surely be a deserving winner of the Golden Ball.

For the finals today, even though Spain looks better on paper I have a hunch that the Dutch are going to be 3rd time lucky to take the cup home for the 1st time. For all the possession they had the Spaniards have scored a miserly 7 goals in the 6 matches so far and I really wouldn't want to watch them win 1-0 again.

Hoping to watch an open game tonight with many goals and may the best team win

The Germany Vs Uruguay was so much more interesting.

Are they trying to bore each other out. Looks like Netherlands has planned on breaking some legs tonight.

The Dutch tactics are quite evident. They aren't allowing Spain to settle down into their famous passing rhythm, switching flanks and midfield movement.

Dirty game so far. De Jong deserved a red card for his tackle on Alonso.

Looks like 2 school teams playing, each desperate to win! With free kicks given twice in a minute, and pulling tugging kicking.. and what not! record no. of yellows?

Wahoo. A team I picked before the world cup finally wins!

They deserved with their quality of play. The dutch were only trying to cut down spanish legs.

Both had some clear chances wasted by hesitating too much - Robben, Villa, Iniesta earlier, Fabregas.

If Robben had fallen like Iniesta (Heitinga red card), then Puyol may have got one as well.

Can we sort this out once and for all, and give Paul the Psychic Octopus two boxes - one with an iPhone and one an Android?

Great game but marred by fouls, mostly from the oranje. They both had chances and how could Robben miss that easy chance in the beginning of the game, but surely the better side takes the cup.

Spain like in the whole tournament played for just that winning goal.

Let's hope this win/euphoria helps Spain's economy come out of it's mess.

boring game, both teams didn't play well. The referee had come to the pitch determined to get Spain the cup!

I'm surprised you say that, because it was quite evident regarding the rough tactics which were being used by the Dutch to bring down the Spaniards. Some of those lunges were outright dangerous.

Spain played consistent football, and kept their cool. They were truly deserving in the end. Notice how Vincent, their coach maintained his composure throughout the series, and even when the game was in the second half of extra time, and on the verge of penalties.

Casillas redeemed himself finally.
