nagpal must be crazy to invest in a 98 octane pump; don't believe there are enough cars who might want to tank up at the rate of 60 per litre and ofcourse not forgetting the travel to the petrol bunk - right on residency road.

off topic:

93 i going to be replaced with 97, you might not believe but i have friends who spend on fuel more than 80k a month each. There are tons of new imported cars in bangalore for example the new porshes launched in india need 98 octane. So this give us a lot of relief. I have friends who use cars varying from hybrid hondas, prosches, nissans, supras and we needed this. Infact we were the ones trying BP to push the product in bangalore.

97 octane wont be much a benefit on stock indian cars such as the accord etc. I doubt you will have any kinds of gains either FE or power. 97 will benefit high compression engines 10.5:1 etc, meant more for the import car market and race highcomp cars here. You could gain however a few horses if you can retune your computer to accept the new fuel and advance ignition etc...

Cheers
Dom

PS: 97 should be shortly be available at most bunks after the official launch

NHC manual says the engine tunes it-self in real-time by sensing the fuel quality.
Akmat, do you think this is incorrect and the ECU has to be manually reset to use Speed 97 ?

And NHC iDSI compression ratio is 10.5:1.
Isn't it high enough for Speed 97 ?

guys anyone with an Accord V6 try using the higher octane. I do know for a fact the engine in the US will gain an extra 10 hp if 91 or higher is used. It may hold good for the indian version as well.
