Default Re: MTNL and BSNL's combo plan for broadband

I recently shifted to BBG Combo ULD 1199 and happy with it.

Key features
- Upto 4 Mbps till 20GB, upto 2Mbps beyond
- 24 hrs. Unlimited free calling (Local+STD) on any network within India.

Monthly STD calls bill (mainly to in-laws) have vanished for now :-)

But what the article says that now BSNL will give 2 Mbps speed after our first 5 GB of usage i.e. double from the earlier 1 Mbps.
Ok, as luck would have it, I actually crossed the FUP on my 680 plan. The speedtest results are showing 2.2Mpbs download and 0.4 mbps upload. Tested twice on different test services.

Note:
This is a back-up connection. My main connection is a FTTH 20Mbps/ 50GB

Thanks for sharing!

So they indeed have increased the speeds. Although their website still isn't updated.

Their website is a crazy place - can drive anyone crazy with the permutations and combinations they have. Wonder why they cant standardize the plans and align them with the market.

Guys,

Trying to reach out to other BSNL customers here. Has anyone noticed the additional advertising that BSNL seems to be injecting on non-HTTPS sites? More details here:

Thanks,
