I like variations in my sounds, so like one for the thought & two for the followup.

And now there is Unforgiven III !
Metallica's latest album Death Magnetic has this song.
I've heard this song a couple of times now and its yet to create an impression. I think Metallica should not have done this song... its an insult to both 1 and 2. As for the album, they are trying too hard to get back to their roots in this album. But there are some things that you just can NOT do once you hit 40.... rocking like a 20 something trendsetting heavy metal band is one such thing.

Unforgiven 2...1 is too old time for me..!!and Unforgiven 3 needs time to grow on you, have heard it like 50 times and its growing.
I have the whole Death Magnetic Album and except unforgiven 3 none of them are worth a hear.

I love Metallica's most songs. It really doesn't matter as his style and voice is extremely lethal and perfectly suitable for some volatile driving

I have to say that Unforgiven 2 comes nowhere close to Unforgiven 3. Metallica is back to being what they used to be.

Real Metallica.

My main gripe about Unforgiven 3 is that its too self pitying. Self pity has no place in heavy metal. Contrast "How can i be lost if I've nowehere to goooooooo?" from 3 with "She loves me not, she loves me still, but she'll never love again" from 2.

Anyway, i will still listen to the album a couple of dozen times more before i am sure about my opinion. These are just my initial thoughts.

Unforgiven 1 and 2. somehow did not like unforgiven 3 and the new album. felt somehow metallica are loosing the magic that they have.
