I love his books and his articles. i have every single book of his in my collection. Laugh a lot, don't take him seriously and you will have fun. Get too serious and you're bound to et all muddled up with feelings.

Im currently reading Freedom at midnight and it is one gripping book about India's partition. The way in which India was partitioned and the politics and detail that went behind the whole saga.

The book is super detailed and a lot of research has gone into it.

Before this I just finished reading "Cold Steel".. This is a book that gives a day by day; hour by hour account of how Laxmi Niwas Mittal purchased Arcelor in the biggest takeover battle ever..!!
But I would recommend it only for people associated with Finance or those who understand or are familiar with the financial terms as the book gets too technical after the first 30 pages itself.

Just curious - I randomly went though quite a few posts and no one reports about reading any book in their regional language.
Any specific reason - or do we have a separate regional thread like the ones we have for films?

If I count only English books - top five would be (in no particular order)

1. The art of racing in the rain - Garth Stein
2. Cosmos - Carl Sagan
3. The Namesake - Jhumpa Lahiri
4. Me talk pretty one day - David Sedaris
5. Animal Farm - George Orwell

From the above list (except Stein whom I have read only one book of), I have read almost all the books written by these authors.

The Art of War - Sun Tzu, is another favorite, but it was not originally written in English, and strictly speaking, its not really a book!

Currently I am reading 2 books

Freakonomics - Levitt & Dubner - Enjoying this book, should finish in another sitting.
Lord of the flies - William Golding - Just started. This is a re-read (read parts of this long back in my school days)

^^No, guess there is no separate thread for "regional" books. But I have seen people post about books that they have read in "regional" languages.

I've just completed "Half of a Yellow Sun" by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie - a Nigerian author. Its a fictional account of the seccession of Biafra from Nigeria in the 1960's and the horrors of war seen through the eyes of different people.

I'd rate it a decent read.

I just finished reading "Purple Hibiscus" by Nigerian Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie. Though the other book ^ was a decent read, I thought this one was much better. Perhaps it brought back memories of Nigeria - was there for 6 years when a little kid.

I have just now caught on to the reading fever. I have finished all of Chetan Bhagat series + some other ones; prefer reading fiction and only Indian. Any recommendations? IITians + love + drama is what I like!

I just read it. People must have read this as part of their "education" in college or abridged versions of it in school etc. I cannot imagine how a book written decades ago is so relevant in our age. I made a comparison with the IT world - office politics, backstabbing etc!

Now reading All Quiet on the Western Front - a book about experiences of a few German soldiers in the World War. Nice translation, I should say!
