I think he would have done a great job and won the match for us. Wait and see, it will happen in this world cup.

I wonder how strauss would have played for 20 years if he was the only batsman that the team and the 1 billion look up to and always come down on !

For Bangla 370 was just about enough (even that was in threat at many times), for Eng, SA etc, maybe 500. We need 200s from Sehwag and sachin.

A definite cause of worry but we can afford to rest him in the next 2 games or can we ?
Time for raining sixes with Raina.

Ireland deserve to play more matches. There are a lot better than the other so called minnows.

In fantasy cricket, Useless XI of TBHP league has broken into top 200 overall. Congrats!

This match is something worth a mention in the history of World Cup

I loved the way Ireland took a "Makhan" approach to beat the Big Wigs of Cricketing world.

What a Shocker! Was about to go to sleep but then i thought lemme check by how many runs England won by, couldn't believe what i was saw next! Match was interestingly poised and i managed to catch the last 2 overs only.

Indian Team BEWARE, the World Cup has just begun!

hahahahaha...i cant stop laughing at england.
I was in a birthday party when got a bbm that match is close and as i reached home they won. Just saw the highlights. What an innings..phew!!!! Hats off to this guy for proving a point to rest of the sides.
India needs Viru and Nehra fit cos i am expecting their match against ireland to be very tough now!
Specially nehra as he can bowl a few in the block hole when the need arises.

Look like even England needs minimum of 350 runs on board in order to win the match incase they are batting first!!

IMO we need to play with 3 full time spinners against Ireland.

India needs to take a cue from the Ireland-England match for their next match with Ireland. For long Ireland have been sidelines as minnows and yesterday they showed their true form.

India needs to put aside the England match fiasco and move ahead about concentrating on the weakness shown by the Indian bowling/fielding the other night against England. No relaxing this time after you score 300+ runs. You never know which team would come from behind and surprise you.

Red face Re: The Cricket World Cup 2011 thread

So India managed to scrape through by beating Ireland. All through the game India looked a lot weaker side since they were supposed to be the big players compared to Ireland but was put on mat and had to wriggle out.

I really dont understand why Piyush Chawla the so called specialist bowler is being taken when he is hammered in every match, why wasnt Ashwin given a chance. Looks like Dhoni has a soft corner for Chawla.

As the tournament progesses, India is looking lot more unstable side and need to be pepped up for the big games going forwad. I hope they will come out of their comfort and start playing some real matches.

Right, this is one BIG question haunting every indians mind that how come piyush is in the best 11, when there are other options like ashwin and raina as well, this is completely undigestible

When you people talk about Chawla being a flop - why isn't any one talking about the BIGGER FLOP in the team - HARBHAJAN SINGH. Apparently supposed to be India's striking spinner, he is having a free run in the team without doing anything substantial for a LOOOOOOOOOONNNNG time now.

Get Ashwin in place of Harbhajan immediately.

And did anyone notice the way Yuvraj was panting after taking 2 runs when Dhoni was making him run fast - sorry to see a previously fit cricketer in such a state. And yes - it was looking yesterday like he was batting for his 50.....and when he realised that Yusuf would finish off the game before he got there, he banged a boundary.....

I wonder what's going to happen to this team against SA and even the WI !
