Great going by NZ. 100 in last 5 overs, Shoaib conceded 26 runs in one over.
Is the ground small by any chance?

Pakistan! What a team! How can they throw it so badly in 5 overs! Full tosses after full tosses followed by wides!

Looking at Pakistans performance today, I am sure ICC will look into this match(for fixing).

too many simple catches dropped, too wayward bowling.

Kamran is anyways famous for dropping catches than holding them so doubt if that would be the case :-). But the way Taylor launched into the bowlers at the death was awesome.

Tomorrow's headline - Amnesty international has launched an investigation in to the Massacre of 11 Pakistanis at Pallekele in Sri Lanka by a Kiwi butcher Ross Taylor. Amnesty has asked Interpol to issue a Red corner notice to apprehend this violent Kiwi who smashed the Pakis with a dangerous weapon called Cricket Bat which is made out of Willow.

Smile Re: The Cricket World Cup 2011 thread

Horrible bowling by Pakistan sealed their defeat yesterday. unbelievable 100 runs scored off last 5 overs. Ross Taylor's batting reminded me of the six sixes Yuvi hit off Chris Broad. Total domination by Taylor.

At one point I felt Pakistan had the chance when Abdul Razzak and Umar Gul were going strong suddenly after 35 overs esp Umal Gul htting fours and sixes quite fluently but it all ended tamely.

I just hope in todays match with Netherlands, India drop Piyush Chawls and bring in Ashwin. Is Nehra fit? or is it that he is being kept on the bench for some critical matches later.

India seem to be at the receiving end. In Chawla's over against Netherlands,
1) Umpire gave a legbye
2) Dhoni asked review for LBW
3) Review found there was some glove on the ball, so its not LBW
4) Its not out and since there was glove involved, leg bye reversed and a run added to batsman.
5) If it was off the bat, Dhoni wouldn't have asked for review in the first place.

Essentially India was penalized 1 review for umpire error. But in the end, a correct decision was made

3 down. This Seelaar guy looks threatening. We have 4 batsmen remaining.

India won by 5 wickets. Boy, Yuvi not at his fluent best but very consistent with both ball & bat.
It was threatening when they took 4 wickets but finally ends well. This should server good runrate too as we won with almost 14 overs to spare. Qualified for QF.

Match against SA will decide who will top the group. If India finishes top, more chances of meeting Pakistan and if we are 2nd, it would be Kiwis (with the form Ross in, i wouldnt dare meet them ).

This excellent article in cricinfo sums up yesterday's Pak vs Kiwi match in a very lively manner.

Unhappy Re: The Cricket World Cup 2011 thread

Phew, India again scraped through the Netherland attack. Boy the 4 wickets which fell within a shot span had started giving me thoughts of an upset but finally India scored a win.

India were 83/1 in 10 overs, the next 100 runs took them 25 overs. Had it not been for Shewag and Tendulkar, the target would have reached in the same overs as the Netherlands. The middle order has not performed at all. There were such big hopes from Virat, Yusuf, Gambhir all of them are struggling and doling out sitters to the opposition. Why is there no sting in the batting nor the bowling dept, I fail to understand. As the tournament progresses, I see that India has started lagging in most of the depts. But I am still hopeful India will atelast make it to the Semis.

A sloppy bowling display against Bangladesh, near defeat from England and scraping wins against the minnows, I will say Indian team has been really lucky till now. Believe me I feel bad even while writing this but what India needs right now is a big big defeat in the initial stages, that wakes them up from deep slumber of lethargy, drowsiness and a rudderless display. Its really important that the team gets its act together and put up an all-round display if they want to be anywhere near THE cup.

I would really love to see India bat, bowl and field against the might of SA.

Hey buddy, do you know how much ESPN and Star invest in the tv rights, and you think the match should get over in 15-20 overs. Image the loss of live cricket AD slot for 30 overs....
Indian team is known for making even a cake-walk match to an Interesting one (Read nail biting) and get good revenue for broadcasters.
I guess they have a cut
