| Senior - BHPian | I have read the whole story many times my friend, read this one..comes from a very young Indian, the future of Indian cricket. "This goes out to all the people of India. This is my first World Cup; I can't ask for more. Tendulkar has carried the burden of nation for 21 years; It was time we carried him. Chak de India!" Virat Kohli leads the Tendulkar tributes Comes from here http://www.espncricinfo.com/icc_cric...ry/509249.html |

| Senior - BHPian | Its indeed the good game played by the Indian cricket team over the last few years that culminated in India winning the CWC 2011. Great job Indian cricket team! Hats off to Dhoni, Nehra, Yuvraj and Zaheer in particular and the whole playing 11 in general for the great game that they played. I was most impressed with the level of fielding that the Indian team displayed OT: But I'm seriously appalled at the number of superficial "Proud to be Indian" floating around on Facebook. If it only takes a Cricket World Cup win to feel proud as an Indian, then I think its time for serious introspection for that person India has much more to it than just a cricket win! |

| Few observation on the CWC2011 matches: Noticed one thing, not even one player from Karnataka in the 15 member CWC squad.. I remember there were 7 members from KRNTK at one point of time in Indian team First time in the World cup history it being won by a Wicket Keeper Captain.. Gambhir was just 3 away, from the Man of the match award.. a century would have made sure he got the award. ![]() Dhoni who scored 150 for past 7 matches manages to score 91 in the final and makes sure all are talking about him now. Especially the last sixer what a shot he made sure the shot was picture perfect I can imagine that last shot being played again and again and again for another decade atleast, it had to look so picture-perfect. He did... that exactly.. MS Dhoni has led India to a World Twenty20 and a World Cup win. Both times, Yuvraj Singh was the Player of the Tournament and Gambhir was top scorer in both finals It's easy to forget them at this moment, but spare a thought for Mahela, for Sanga, for Murali - Champions all. They have been in two consecutive world cup finals to end up in the loosing side.. Poor them. For those who did Matric board Tenth Std in TN, One would remember there was one lesson on India Winning the WC in'83.. If India happens to win today, it would be funny that some kid would be having a lesson on this ten yrs down the lane.. He would be cursing for Ind having won the match.. This is just amazing Rajnikanth just has to attend a cricket match and he's trending in India in the Twitter... He just rocks.. In fact even Cricinfo tweet says this.. Five 100s in World Cup finals, and not a single one was in a losing cause Last edited by xingamazon : 3rd April 2011 at 09:22. |

| Senior - BHPian | Congrats TEAM INDIA. Wonderful wonderful effort! MSD you let your calmness and BAT shut the mouths of many people who doubted your ability. Fantastic, its the young guys who have shown time and again what they are made of and they are not afraid of stage. Virat, Gambhir, Raina, they are the future. Another group that we should never forget and pay very little tribute is to the support staff. The camera shy man GARY KIRSTEN should be given credibility to get the team to this level. Thank you guys. Sangakara, pack your bags, go back to Lanka and learn more cheating tricks. |

| It is great to see our nation of 1.21 billion people celebrating a sporting triumph over a combination of other rag-tag bunch of competing nations not adding to even half the numbers, either in population or economy. Hoping the same joy, affection and support is shown to other sports lagging behind cricket. The true joy would be when we are in the top 3 in Olypmics. |
