just disposed my Fila Ducati's. :( was a sad departure. Time for new ones.

Saucony is the company sponsor and I dont see anything that's even remotely close.

Did you buy them from the Tibetese market in Old Delhi close to ISBT. I think I bought a pair from there as well, long long time back and would you believe it mine also got stolen in the train.

This also gives me an idea, maybe I should wait till I reach Nepal (the trip starts from Nepal) and from there maybe pick up some fake shoes for a few hundred rupees and just discard them when I am done with the trip..what say?

Totally agree with you there, I still have my doc Martins that I used on ships for 5 years and nothing has happened to them. On wet decks and oily galleys they stick as firmly as gum and u never slip. Simply the best. But I guess i cant use them for hiking as they are black (almost formal) and I would really look stupid in them

Man I really got a shock hearing the prices. But I guess i never ventured above sneakers till now so thats why my reaction was like that.

Also maybe I can get those black Fauji shoes, but are they good enough for treks? I mean, I know our Fauji's where them day in and day out but our Fauji's are rough and tough and used to wearing them. And since i am not used to them would I be able to get used to them?

@harjeev, they look to me like your regular army boots. I used to wear something similar during my N.C.C ( Navy) stint for 3 years.

Why dont you try the local N.C.C office, they may have something like this for sure.

All you shoe-addicts, if you're coming to NYC, pay a visit to SHOE MANIA.
They have branded shoes, for much less than what you'd get in a department / retail store. They have stores around NYC - one very near the Empire State Bldg. (@ 34th St & 5th Ave).

I've bought from them in the past and haven't been disappoint or bundled with a fake / replica.

I had picked up a couple of Italian formal shoes from Macy's in NYC in 2004 and they served well until now.

They are still in good shape but got terribly bored of them so it goes out of the window
