| Senior - BHPian | call me dumb, but isn't a pair of speakers (normal or components) a part of any set-up? (not being sarci, just clearing a doubt - new to this section) speed_n_sexy: do you like bring out a balance in the extreme quantities of bass and treble produced, the question is about how do you manage that? manson.

| Senior - BHPian | dude Questions 1. 4 Ts20's ??? like how much treble do ya want ??? 2. 14" woofer ? i thought woofer sizes were 10" 12" 15" 18" 20" Ok 1. if ur woofers are in ur rear tray then get a new tray and move the woofers to box. look around for a box design thread. You might have a problem here as u have two different sized woofers. 2. Four Ts20's ??!!! 3. what bout the front stage ? or are ur ts20's handling that also? get some front components. From what i think u must be having quite a lot of treble thanx to TWO tS20's and low range due to thw woofers.. but are those 6x9's actually fillin up the mid range ? As for the NEONS since u have a black colored car try GREEN or PURPLE neons ... they new in the market ![]()

| Senior - BHPian | 1) 14inch Pio woofer? 2) Kenwood's high end woofer at 2.7k? You get it from smuggler? It seems your setup is a damn bad setup. How happy are you with it ona scale of 1-10? ( 10 being the best )

| Senior - BHPian | Im crying with 2 TS20's and a 4way Pioneer 6x9" coaxial in the rear. Way too much shine for me. Anyway to each his own!! Im pretty sure we have the makings of a new ICE addict here though, just watch this guy in a couple of months ![]()

Excellent, dude! I havent heard of too many better setups than this in my life. This should serve as a lesson to all the bigmouths here, Sam, JB Gunbir, Navin (uh, ok. me too ) who endlessly consume web footage debating the virtues of component speakers. Why did you spend money on speakers when the guy who did your setup doesn't have any? You were conned bigtime there. 3100 on speakers?? What a waste! Couldn't he just wave his magic wand in your car as well? Or maybe you coulda bought another pair of TS20s!!! And also, if you could part with the confidential information about the shop/ installer who achieved this near sonic miracle, I would be greatly obliged. That way I know where not to go if I ever visit Delhi.

Also the Pio sub is a 12" sub. The 12" is the nominal diameter of the woofer. A 12" sub can be anything from 12.5" big or 11.75" small in reality. also let us know what HU you are using and what you are willing to spend. do the following. a) Get 4 good coax speakers for say 8-10K. If you can afford more upgrade to compoents. Blaupunkt ODx or JBL GTO speakers are a good place to start. Install 2 in the doors and 2 in the rear deck. Power them with 1 Alpine amp. 2 ch for the front and 2 ch. for the rear. b) Take the sub out of the HU and connect it to the second Alpine amp. run that to the Pio woofer and Kenwood woofer. Ch 1&2 bridged for the Pioneer and Ch. 3&4 bridged for the Kenwood. c) Listen........ if you want more highs then do the following d) upgrade front speakers to components. That will cost you about 1.5-2K more. e) connect the 2 TS20 in series so you now have 4 TS 20 but actually they are 2 TS20-2 (double TS20). Make sure the TS20-2 (doubles) are so that the 2 bodies of the TS20s touch. Connect them in series NOT parallel. and install the TS20-2 (doubled TS20) near your rear speakers (mentioned above) one TS20-2 for each channel (left and right). The TS20-2 should be as far apart as possible but on the rear deck. f) connect a 10ohm 10W resistor in series with the TS20-2 (doubled TS20) and connect these in parallel with your rear speakers. If you want more treble replace the 10 ohm resistor with a 4ohm/10W resistor.
