What's with the surface of the speaker? It looks like it's coated with Tar!!

Thanks for sharing,LBM i don't know why but i am smelling front speakers upgrade too,i might be wrong.Anyhow how did you removed the grille from the door pannel,looks like bit of cutting is required to take off the default grille.
And plz throw somelight on water protection that you have done for the speakers.

many very well respected speakers have similar coatings. many companies use what may loosly be termed as composite cones adding silica, talc, or metal dust to the plastic doping used for paper cones. this might be what gave teh DLS woofer the "tar like finish". the doping is used to improve rigidity and thereby reduce distortion due to flex.

Just changed my car head lights... did some DIY on the Projectors as the aim they were giving was not to my taste, will start a new thread in the MOD section for the same...
