Nice sub in the right hands sir. Have fun with it.
In some time a new placement will be seen. That also which is never used here till now. But it will take some time.

Yes Sir. I would be doing this when I am finishing the box. As the carpet is still pending till now.

LBM, I'd seriosuly condier a MDF/FRP/Marine Ply composite box. Atleast for the baffle. If it was me I'd have used a FRP/Carbon fiber composite.
Sir right now I am giving the sub 2400 watts and till that stage 1 inch MDF is good enough. But when more power will be given to this monster I will surely think of some thing stiff.

Well congrats on getting that Monster..

You have installed the plutonium in the swift....what about the hydrogen ones? Where are you installing them?

Whats the next amp for this monster? I know we have to start guessing again
The hydrogen are for my friend, He is putting them in his Viva. Will surely post the pics of the same.

He could buy the old 100MW unit from Badarpur TPS, mount it on a trailer and hitch it to his car. Or even the older 60MW units from Faridabad or Indraprastha.

I think LBM has joined the Greens and is trying to make an Air-powered car, saving the world from noxious HC emissions. Play a symphony in the city for low speed driving, hip-hop on the highway for high-speed driving.

Reminds me of that Cement ad with the stunned truck driver: imagine LBM-bhai stranded somewhere holding the steering wheel, everything else from the car, other than the sub-box, having parted company sometime before.
LBM-pra-ji, twadda jawaab nahin! Keep it up - the world is waiting! 170dB now?

lbm,

considering swift's charging system, do you think your amp can give out 2400w rms? can the alt and the battery keep up with the current demand of the amp?

Hey Clip, i think i can answer this one -

The STEG is rated at 2400RMS at 11.x volts not at 14.4volts like other amps and LBM plays loud only with the engine running. he also has a voltmeter installed so he can monitor the voltage at all time....

Does it require starter also to switch on the System same as some big electric motors seen in factories or near by "Aata Chakki" shops .

Swift has a 60A alternator(I think). Lets say this is 60A at 14.4V which means the max power which the alternator can dump out is 14.4*60 = 864W
Even with engine running, its going to seriously overload the system.

i dont know if he has changed the meter but the one i saw wasn't accurate. :-)

yes he does keep tab of the voltage using a dmm. and playing that amp with the engine off he will need to jump start the car everytime. i don't play my pio 944 with engine off even at low vol.

the meter is accurate but is has some error in the reading which is .3 volts. If it is showing 14.6 then real reading is 14.3 so it serves the purpose very well.

About the steg giving out 2400 watts, Like I said I play for short durations the battery supply the juice like in the case of a starter If I keep cranking any car for 15 mins the battery will drain out. also alternator has no job to play in that case. It had been that I am playing the setup for longer durations like half hour or even 15 mins the battery would die out and then I would need a High output alternator.

oh yes lbm. i remember you told me when we met in palam vihar about the minor error. sorry.

why don't you upgrade your charging system lbm? considering the amount of money you have spent on the audio system, a high output alternator is not a big expense IMHO. you won't be restricted to a 5 minute rear seat torture. you can torture a person as long as you want or till the person vibrates to death. lol.

what spl figure are you aiming for lbm? 160+ db? or 170?

at 150+db 5 min can seem like eternity, why, it might be "for all eternity".
